3D Rainbows and Unicorn Card - Folds Flat Too!

I'm here to share a magical unicorn moment complete with rainbows and happiness.  And made with fun...Maja Design Papers  and amazing Spellbinders dies.

My sentiment reads : "It's going to be a rainbows and unicorns kind of day."
Some days are meant to be extra special.
HG=Have you ever sat at your craft table and felt like that?  I have.

This die set from Spellbinders is absolutely amazing.  It's
Spellbinders  -Grand Arch Elegant 3D Vignette Dies by Becca Feeken.

The coolest thing about this die set is that it folds flat to slip inside an envelope.

Watch this super quick 20 second video to see how cool this 3D die opens and closes to be flat.

My paper choice is also magical.
The Enjoying Outdoors collection by Maja Design has rich purples and greens that make me think of unicorns.  I am not sure why I connect purple with unicorns, but I do.
That's the very reason I selected this paper. These are the 12x12 pieces I used from the collection:
Flourishing
Woodlands
The Great Nature
Here is a close up of the card.
The dimensional die from Spellbinders and Becca Feeken.  The die set is part of Becca Feeken's Amazing Paper Grace Collection

The Unicorn die is also from Spellbinders - Die-D-Lites collection- Unicorn Fantasy  .
Who doesn't LOVE unicorns and rainbows!

Here are a few images to show how this goes from dimensional to flat - flat enough to slip nicely into an envelope.  What a cool and beautiful thing.

DIY Snowman Snow Globe Shaker Card - Tips and Video

Summer is finally here and I'm still making snowmen?  Am I crazy?
Yes - I certainly am - crazy for this die from Spellbinders.

I have been playing around and experimenting with Spellbinders Elegant 3D Vignettes (dimensional dies) by Becca Feeken.  This particular die is called Grand Dome.

I created my version of an adorable snowman snow globe card.
I've been waiting for summer to make an appearance - but I really do love snowmen and snow globes.   Extra fun bonus when I'm making a shaker card.

Here are the two Spellbinders dies I used for this DIY Snowman Snow Globe Shaker Card:

Here are the papers I used from the Vintage Winter collection by Maja Design:
Hej-mitt-vinterland
Fun in the Snow
Winter Joy

The snow globe was created using the cool die from Spellbinders and Becca Feeken - Grand Dome .
The snowman is also a Spellbinders die -  Snowman Builder -  Small Die of the Month Club.

The Spellbinders Elegant 3D Dies by Becca Feeken were designed to help create unique dimensional cards and projects.  This means there are many layers - like a "sandwich".

Quick Video

Here is a quick 30 second video showing the snow globe shaker card in motion.
I just love making shaker cards.

Below is a photo of the shaker card "sandwich" needed to make this card.
The die has many pieces - meaning many layers to assemble in order to create the dimensional look.
My snowballs are actually little foam balls.   They work perfectly here.

I wanted the snow to shake and fall around the snowman and be a bit more dimensional.
In order to do that, I have provided my "sandwich" - describing the way I created the layers.
You can see a close up of the layers in the image below.

I cut the sweet snowman from the Maja Design Vintage Winter collection and glued him to the side of the shaker snow globe.

On the second side of the shaker card, I cut the image of the little boy throwing snowballs from the Maja Design paper.   Perfect for my card.

Thanks for stopping here to see my winter creation.  Now back to Summer....

Here is a link to another dmensional card I made using the Grand Dome -Elegant 3D Dies by Becca Feeken Grand Dome die.   You can see the details of this project here.

Seascape 3D Card

I have been playing around and experimenting with Spellbinders Elegant 3D Vignettes (dimensional dies) by Becca Feeken.  This particular die is called Grand Dome.

The coolest thing about these dimensional cards is that they fold flat for placing in envelopes.
My video shows how.

Ohhhhhh,  I have sooo many ideas for this die! I believe I have too many ideas and not enough time for creating.  A problem we probably all have.

I created a little seascape using the Sea Land paper collection from Stamparia.  It's my version of a ship in a bottle concept.

The sweet sea gulls are also from the Stamperia paper .   I simply cut them out and added some hemp cord for salty seascape effect.

The adorable tiny starfish were given to my by my scrappy friend, Kathi Simmons.  Thanks Kathi!  They are the perfect finishing touch.
Once all the pieces were cut, I inked the edges with
Walnut Stain Distress Ink  for bold accent, then pieced the card together.

The small die in the set made the perfect topper for my card.

Thanks for stopping.  I appreciate your time.

Happy Birthday Balloon Card with DIY Tutorial

Happy Birthday Dies and Stamps
I have an assortment of Spellbinders dies that I used from  the  Elegant 3D Vignettes collection by Becca Feeken .

This birthday card features two different Stamp/die products from the Spellbinders collection:
The background of this card was created using the "Happy" stamp that came with the

I used Watercolor Paper misted with water and stamped with a variety of Distress Inks ( Weathered Wood Peacock FeathersTwisted Citron)  to create a cool watery flowing look.

I have a super quick video (1 minute long - yeah I mean quick!) showing how I created my watery background.

In order to create a little dimension with the balloons, I added a layer of foam to some of the details.   This was done by die cutting thin fun foam I bought at a craft store.

You can see another card made using the same stamping method to create a the watercolor background right here

Sea Turtles Card

Under the Sea with Spellbinders
I think I am missing the sunshine where I live.  It's still snowing and cold.   My mind is completely centered on sunshine, warmth and peaceful ocean settings.  Those are my comfort thoughts.

Spellbinders new dies helped me find my peace and tranquility.

I have an assortment of Spellbinders dies that I used from  the  Elegant 3D Vignettes collection by Becca Feeken as well as from Tammy Tutterow - shown below:

How adorable are these sea turtles?  This is the beauty of the Graphic 45 - Sun Kissed  collection.  It's utterly delightful and captivates my heart.

I fussy cut the sea turtles and mounted them on foam to make them come alive with dimension.

Here are some cards that featured these same dies.

The Sea Makes me Happy Happy Happy

Happiness is...the Sea and Spellbinders...

It's no secret that I love the seashore.  I love everything about it's peaceful setting.  It simply makes me happy.
I also know I am NOT alone in declaring my passion for the ocean.  Many folks share this feeling (and some of them live with me).

I made this card to share the calming affect the sea has on people.
Even more exciting was the fact that I could use the new Oh Happy Day -Elegant 3D Vignettes Collection by Becca Feeken   stamp/die set from Spellbinders.

This fun and versatile set is part of the Amazing Paper Grace Collection which includes the  newest line of products from Becca Feeken's Elegant 3D Vignettes collection by  Spellbinders.
I admit I used the  Oh Happy Day stamp/die set from Spellbinders   in a most unusual way, but it was perfect for how I felt.

First - my paper choice is Stamperia paper - Sea Land 12x12 collection.  Utterly divine and soothing.

I diecut the word "Happy" from several pieces of paper from the collection, inked the words Walnut Stain Distress Ink  accent, then pieced them all back together to create my card.

The cool thing about this technique?  That word "Happy" can be used to express joy for so many occasions - birthday joy, anniversary joy, friendships, love and even for a quick and fun "thank you " card.

I have a few more samples using this same technique in upcoming posts.  Stay tuned for some "Happy" posts.

It's Spring - Time for Robins, Birdhouses, and Flowers

Spellbinder's Sew Sweet

I've been playing with the newly released dies at  Spellbinders  from designers Tammy Tutterow and Becca Feeken.

Spellbinders introduces the

The die combo has been fun because both sets of dies allow the crafter to "build your own" fun, so to speak.

Today I'm using the Sew Spellbinders Sweet Tweets birdhouse dies - a set of wonderful "build your own" dies with bird house, bird and various embellishments.

The birdhouse is being embellished with custom flowers made from Spellbinders Cinch and Go Flowers III , part of the Elegant 3D Vignettes collection by Becca Feeken/Amazing Paper Grace.  This collection is all about the layering and dimension.

Here are some close ups of my finished card using the dies:
