 Becca Feeken's  new collection for Spellbinders has captured my heart. Here are a few cards made using the  Romantic Chargeour Dies from Beautiful Sentiment Vignettes Collection by Becca Feeken .

Light House Canvas - DIY Home Decor with Creative Embellishments

 

Welcome to the ocean. The ocean is my happy place and I adore creating a variety of coastal projects to keep me as close as I can be to my favorite place.  

Creative Embellishments has a large selection coastal themed products to help with card making, home decor, traditional memory keeping,  scrapbooking, and any crafty idea you can imagine.

Today's feature is an easy  DIY home deco canvas made using Creative Embellishments Wooden Home Decor - Lighthouse and embellished with Creative Embellishments Seagull Set and Starfish and Sand Dollars

The wood wooden Home Decor - Lighthouse  piece is fairly large (4.2" wide and 12" tall ) so I selected an 8"x 10" canvas for the project.  The paper background is a sheet of patterned paper from Stamperia's Sea Land 12x12 collection. It's also the backing behind the wood light house.  

I think I am on my 4th reorder of this gorgeous collection.  

I used a sea sponge and dabbed the wood light house with white  and light blue acrylic paint - but did not cover the whole piece. I tried to achieve a weathered look - not full coverage.    Tip:  if you find you have "over painted", just take some sand paper to the wood and ruff it up a bit.  You'll get it back to sea worthy perfection in no time.

Astrology Zodiac Glimmer Hot Foil Collection - Spellbinders

The Shaker and Shaker Mix

I adore the element of surprise one gets when opening a shaker card.  Interactive cards are unique and fun.   The Star Shaker Set is from Creative Embellishments.  

The chipboard shaker was painted with acrylic paints to blend with the background paper from Stamperia.   

Every shaker needs fabulous shaker mix to bring the card to life.  This card has a new shaker mix from Buttons Galore -  Shaker Mix in a Cube- Glittering Stars .

Here is the Spellbinders Pisces Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Celestial Zodiacs Collection.  

The background of this card was made using Ranger Distress Inks blended onto Specialty Stamping paper.

Scenic Cards of the Mountains - Creative Embellishments

 

 Today I'd like to share some scenic cards celebrating nature and the mountains featuring Creative Embellishments fabulous nature centered designs.

The cards were made for my two son's in Colorado.   I honestly don't craft many cards for men so it's something I want to work on in the new year.

The chipboard used on the cards today are as follows:

Treatments of the Chipboard Pieces:

I added texture to the trees by mixing Heavy Body Gel  (like a super thick molding paste) with Forest Moss acrylic paint.  Then I used a palette knife to slather the paste on, like frosting little cookies. Once the trees are dry, I shading using Walnut Stain: 

The snow on the mountains is the heavy gesso added thickly to the chipboard.  The "peace" sentiment has been left the natural chipboard kraft color and the mountain pieces have been inked with walnut stain Distress Ink.
