Frosty Winter Shaker Cards with Cats - Buttons Galore's Crystalz with Instructions

Shake up some winter fun to send to others.  In my opinion, it's the best way to share winter's frosty cold.

I created some winter shaker cards and glammed up cards featuring Buttons Galore and More's new Crystaz colors.  They are glitzy, glammie and perfect for adding sparkle to shaker cards or craft projects.

Scroll down and I'll share the super easy instructions on how to make a quick shaker card.

This is Buttons Galore's new amazing Ocean Blue Crystlaz - which I used as my perfect frosty shaker mix. As you can tell, it also makes great embellishments for decorating any card.

Snow Angel is my first shaker card.

The adorable cat stamp is from Newton's Nook Designs SNOW ANGEL NEWTON Clear Stamps and has been colored with Journey Color Burst Pure Color Pencils
from Spellbinders.  They are easy to use and the colors are heavily pigmented for bold coloring options.

Here is the second shaker for today.  The sweet kitty stamp is also from
Newton's Nook - NEWTON'S TOBOGGAN Clear Stamps .  I thought it perfectly represented my three gray kitties sledding joyfully down the hills enjoying winter.

Simple Shaker Card Instructions:
Shaker cards are easier than you can imagine.  Below are the quick instructions.  The cards presented today only use a few supplies for the shaker.
1. Netting /tulle
2. Double sided tape  (glue does work also).

Step 1.  Add double sided tape (or other adhesive) to the back of your card.  Make sure you have tape on all four edges.

Acrylic sheets make great shaker card windows as well but tulle is easy to use and cheap to buy.  It's now my preferred material for creating a shaker window.

Step 2.  Cut some tulle/netting big enough to wrap around the card and secure to the tape in the back.  Leave one end open so you can fill with shaker mix.

Step 3.  Add shaker mix and seal the final end flap closed.  Glue to the card.

The last card for today uses a mixture of cat clear stamps:

Other Important details
Special shout out to the frosty winter paper choice today.  This is Echo Park WINTER MAGIC 6 x 6 Paper Pad wim223023*

I used the My Sweet Petunia Mini Misti - Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented (MISTI for short)  platform for perfect stamped images.  This is important because without the MISTI, I am a rather poor stamper and would waste a lot of paper and ink in the effort to get just one image I could use.  The MISTI stamping platform completely eliminates the waste and provides a perfect stamped image.

Basket Full of Geraniums for Christmas - Spellbinders (with video)

Spellbinders rocks flower dies like no one else thanks to the amazing design creations of Susan Tierney-Cockburn and her Garden Club collection.

Today I am featuring a basket of geraniums for Christmas.  Yes - I realize geraniums are not traditionally Christmas florals BUT who cares.  I love it!

Video Instructions
Here is a quick video from Spellbinders showing assembly.

In Susan's video, she references the tools she uses to help create the flowers.  Here are the tools she uses: Spellbinders - Susan's Garden Ultimate Tool Kit. While the tool set is not a necessity for making flowers, it's fun to follow along with Susan in the videos.
Pop this on your Christmas wish list and have your family buy it for you.

Paper and Embellishments
Here is a shout out to the paper and the embellishments used:

Extra Finishing Touches
My card has some finishing touches that give it the completed frosty winter look.  After the flowers were assembled, I added some little red centers to each with the "confetti" pieces from Buttons Galore and More - Doo Dadz Mimosa (shown in red below).

Doo Dadz  are beautiful shimmery collections of gems, confetti and iridescent sprinkles.  The gems are flat sided with facets for the cool crystal effect.  And the flat side is perfect for adding to projects, cards, inside shakers.

I also used Buttons Galore and More's Polar Wind  Doo Dadz  to decorate the snow and the top of the card for a touch more sparkle.

Now for the "snow".  I dabbled the Stamperia ARCTIC SNOW Glitter Paste on the petals , leaves, basket and card for the frosty effect.  This is just fun stuff.
