Purple Heart Card

Hello friends.  I'd like to share my heart card created using the Enjoying Outdoors collection from Maja Design and Spellbinders Sew Sweet Valentine by Tammy Tutterow .

I absolutely love the warm purples in this collection.  These are the papers I used from the Enjoying Outdoors collection:
Singing in the Rain (A and B sides of paper)
There is No Bad Weather

I have to smile because the name of one of the sheets of paper I used is called "There is No Bad Weather".

That is soooooooooo true when you are sitting at your crafting table and making some paper projects.  There just is no bad weather - it's always a perfect time to scrap.  And even better when you are playing with Maja papers.

These are just gorgeous colors and they make me happy.  This collection is a MUST for anyone who loves purple.  This is sure to make you scrap-happy.

I embellished my card with die cuts from Spellbinders - Sew Sweet Valentine Die by Tammy Tutterow.  I wove hemp twine through the holes in the heart die to add more natural elements to the card.

The Spellbinders die I used is the Sew Sweet Valentine by Tammy Tutterow
is fun,  a bit quirky as it sits slightly off center and absolutely sweet ( as the name, Sew Sweet implies). The off-centered nested hearts give the die collection such charm.

You can see other examples of projects/cards using this die  Part 1 here.

Here is one last look at the completed card.  Ahhh those colors!

It's Spring - Time for Robins, Birdhouses, and Flowers

Spellbinder's Sew Sweet

I've been playing with the newly released dies at  Spellbinders  from designers Tammy Tutterow and Becca Feeken.

Spellbinders introduces the

The die combo has been fun because both sets of dies allow the crafter to "build your own" fun, so to speak.

Today I'm using the Sew Spellbinders Sweet Tweets birdhouse dies - a set of wonderful "build your own" dies with bird house, bird and various embellishments.

The birdhouse is being embellished with custom flowers made from Spellbinders Cinch and Go Flowers III , part of the Elegant 3D Vignettes collection by Becca Feeken/Amazing Paper Grace.  This collection is all about the layering and dimension.

Here are some close ups of my finished card using the dies:

Heart Cards Soooo Sweet - With Spellbinders Dies

The Sew Sweet Collection By Spellbinders (Part 2)

I've been playing with the newest releases at Spellbinders.  This card features a die from the Sew Sweet collection by Tammy Tutterow.   This is Part 2 of my posts using this die.    You can see Part 1 here.

is fun,  a bit quirky as it sits slightly off center and absolutely sweet ( as the name, Sew Sweet implies).
The off-centered nested hearts give the die collection such charm.

As you can see above, the collection comes with an assortment of dies for embellishing your projects.  I took full advantage of this to add some darling vines and leaves to cluster  around my simple layered flower.

I also used the banner die from the collection and layered that as well for shadowing.

The little "love" tag came from Stamperia's Old Lace 12x12 paper that I used on this project.
This is the inside of the Spellbinders Sew Sweet Valentine  card.
Because I used the dark brown cardstock, the inside of the card needed a layer of lighter cardstock for the personal sentiment.

As I mentioned , the paper I am using Stamperia's Old Lace 12x12 paper collection.  I'm really loving this paper.

Sweet Hearts and Lilacs

Sweet Hearts and Lilacs with Spellbinders
(Part 1)
I've been playing with the newest releases at Spellbinders.  This card features a die from the Sew Sweet collection by Tammy Tutterow.   I love love love it.   This is Part 1 of my Sew Sweet post.  You can see Part 2 here.

The die has a darling little 5 petal flower that I turned into a lilac.  OK lilacs have 4 petals.  All I can say is mine don't.  You're just gonna have indulge my imagination.

Below is my version of a delicate lilac.  A four petal beauty...until I create it from a 5-petaled flower.  It's all about the imagination.
I'm quite happy with my quirky lilac. It looks lovely in my opinion.

I'm going to give this card to my mom for Mother's Day.
Where I live, we have a giant Lilac Festival in May when the bushes and trees are in bloom.

I also adore the nested heart die and all the little adornments that come with the Sew Sweet Valentine by Tammy Tutterow .

The paper I am using is Lilac Flowers collection from Stamperia -
quite delicate and feminine paper and perfect for this die.

Enchanting Halloween Shaker Card Made With LOVE Plus Handy TIP

For the Love of Halloween!

Here's an enchanting card I made with love.
Clearly many folks love all things Halloween.
It's wild popularity has some websites suggesting it to be the second biggest holiday next to Christmas.

Count me as one of those folks who adores the decorations and festivities of this quirky, fun holiday.
Spellbinders has given us Halloween fanatics some hauntingly wonderful products to celebrate the season.

I created a shaker card to send to a family member enchanted by Halloween.  I thought the Spellbinders - Nothing But Love Stamp  by Tammy Tutterow would be a cute twist to use on the background of my card.  After all, it's all about the LOVE of all things Halloween.

Scroll down the blog post and I'll share my handy recycle tip and money saving for shaker cards.

These are the Spellbinders products I used:

Here is a better image to show the dimension of this card.
And aren't those bats simply darling?

Handy Shaker Card Tip
Don't have any acrylic to make a shaker card?  This is what I do....I eat the rest of the baked goods I bought for the family - this one happens to be the beloved cheese danish.  Just wash and dry and instantly I have acrylic that's proudly been recycled.

Better yet, have a friend over and share the goodies.  Eat, laugh and make a day crafting together creating Spellbinders shaker cards.

Look at the top of the container....all that lovely usable acrylic begging to become a shaker card.

The possibilities are endless - baked goods, fresh fruit and veggies, packaging from your crafts and crafting flowers....search the house high and low, then eat up!
.....but  PLEASE be mindful of products with allergens like peanuts if you are giving cards to others.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a bewitching Halloween season.
