There's quite a lot to celebrate with Spellbinders Card Kit for May 2020.  It's joyful, whimsical, and full of beautiful cheer. I bet we all know someone who sure could use a card made with love to cheer them. 

The kit this month includes fun imagery that certainly warmed my heart with rainbows, tie die looking paper, and kitties.   Here's a look at what's included in the May box. 

 

I created two cards using the May kit.  This first card was made using Spellbinders "Extras".

This second card uses the dimensional butterfly stickers from the card kit. This is a super simple card, but I love the combination of the tie-dye paper and the serenity of the butterflies.

Truckin (and Shaking) Through the Season - New Released Sentiments

Spellbinders is bringing back it's blockbuster pickup truck die for a special edition release.  This popular die was originally from October's  Spellbinders Large Die of the Month , called Truckin' Through the Seasons.  
The die set was so adorable it went viral leaving customers asking for more.

Spellbinders has granted the overwhelming request.  
Introducing...... So Many More Sentiments Die Set  -perfectly coordinated to fit the adorable pickup truck set (which also has been re-released on a specialty limited basis).

The combination of newly released sentiments and adorable accessory dies that come with the truck set enable crafters and card makers to cover any occasion, any season and just about any holiday providing limitless creativity.

I even used the evergreen dies to create snowflakes placed at the top of my card.  

Shaker Happiness

I am obsessed with shaker cards.  Everything about the shaker enchants me - the thought process that goes into the design of the card, the glitzy shiny filler beads and sequins, and knowing the card will put a smile on someone's face.  

 I decided the truck would make a perfect shaker.  

 Buttons Galore and More has a fabulous selection of shaker material that will bedazzle anyone.  I used Buttons Galore's Sparkletz product to fill my featured shaker.  

The image below is Sparkletz Coral Coast, filled with pale pink sequins, iridescent gems and gold pearls.

In addition to shaker card filler, Sparkletz makes wonderful embellishing accents for your projects.  I added the sequins and gems to the pine trees and at the top as snow flakes.  These may be seen better in the images below.  

My paper choice is a combination of a a few paper pads from Studio Light  -  Winter Woodland 6x6 and Winter Days 6x6 collection.  

The circle for my shaker was cut using Spellbinders Hemstitch Die - Romancing the Swirl by Becca Feeken - with it's beautiful stitched look.  I am pretending the stitching is really a circle border of snowballs to match the theme of my card.  haaaaa.

This month, I had the opportunity to create with Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club and this month it comes with a twist....literally.

Amazing Paper Grace (APG) - Die of the Month

I used a few of the "extras" from November's Card kit to finish the card.  The "PEACE" sentiment on the front of the card is from  Deer Santa Clear Stamp Set (card kit of the month extras).  

Let's talk about the Pug diecut shape.  This adorable guy is from the Deer Santa die cut shapes from November ( card kit of the month extras).  You can still grab these diecut shapes from the Spellbinders store while they are available.

NOTE :  the sentiment on the inside of the card, "from the Pug" was simply  printed on cardstock before using the circle die from the set.  

Here is a quick video showing just how cool this twist card design is.  

  In addition to the main twist-card die, the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club comes with some sweet smaller dies to create greens and floral decorations on your projects.

The paper used on this card is Authentique Nostalgia collection 12x12 paper pack - gorgeous classic Christmas colors and images.

Peace on Earth - DIY Cards Using Stamps

JustRite Papercraft has released it's new Christmas stamp collection and I am enchanted.  

Now is the perfect time to start your DIY cards.  The summer has rounded to a close ( sob sob)  - school is in session.  This seems to be the time of year when we speed like a jetliner towards Christmas.  

Three blinks and it's Halloween,  Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

JustRite's stamps help make the DIY holiday card preparations easy.  

I have created two cards using some of the new releases paired with one of JustRite's beautiful medallion dies.  JustRite Merry Christmas Sentiment Stamps Set

I decided how large the stamped wreath needed to be first, then I drew a circle in pencil as a guideline for stamping.  I then was able to stamp and actually be satisfied with my wreath shape.

After the inks are dry, the pencil marks can be erased.
