Create a Lion Themed Birthday Flip Card With Spellbinders and Maja Design

Hello sweet friends.   I'm sharing a darling birthday flip / twist card with an adorable lion theme.  This has been made with the fabulous dies from Spellbinders and paper collections from Maja Design (Denim & Friends collection).  

This collection is fun, versatile and perfect for masculine themed projects.  These are the papers used from the Maja Design - Denim & Friends collection:

As I mentioned above, the adorable lion is from Spellbinders. It's one of the new Die D-Lites.   How cute is he?  If you scroll to the shopping section, you can see the lion's friends (the walrus, penguin, tiger).

The Sentiment Stamps Used

The sentiment inside the card reads:
"Wishing you a day full of joy and a year full of smiles". 

 The sentiment is from the Spellbinders /FSJ Inside & Out stamp set shown below.  The set covers a variety of occasions : birthday, graduation, sympathy, thanks and general well wishes.

The ink I used with the stamps was Dark Roast - True Color Fusion Ink. Your ink color and quality are the key for success with sentiment stamps.  Quality inks make a difference.

Spellbinders monthly clubs keep getting better.  As a result of the overwhelming popularity of Becca Feeken's Amazing Paper Grace die designs, they have introduced the APG-Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month.  

Below is a photo of the exclusive die from Spellbinders is created by Becca Feeken and is only available through the club.  

It's designed to give the crafter a variety of die cutting options.

I created more of a masculine themed card with the APG Die this Month.  It's so easy to see how the dies can be used for feminine cards but they also can be used to create fabulous masculine cards as well.   

The darling little sail boat is a "classic" Spellbinders  Die D-Lite called "Nautical".  (Die D-Lites Nautical Etched Die S2-226)

This nautical themed card was crafted with the gorgeous Denim & Friends  paper collection  from Maja Design.  The  teal colors in the collection make me think of sea glass and the colors of the ocean and the Caribbean.  

I thought the little bit of lace looked a bit like waves - while my gems looked like bubbles sparkling in the ocean from the sun.  It's all about relaxation.

Relax and Recover - Get Well Card

Today I am presenting a  get-well card made from Maja Design's fabulous  Denim & Friends collection.

This collection is one of my favorites for layering.  The patterns and florals combined with the blues and soft browns in this collection make this versatile for both men's and women's cards. 

These are the papers I used from the collection:

Stonewashed

Paisley

This is a closer look at the layers of the card as well as the sentiment. 

I added a piece of fun foam under the sentiment piece to give a little volume and dimension. 

The sentiment stamped with a warm chocolate colored ink using a new stamp from JustRite Papercrafts.  It's a newly released set, JustRite Get Well Soon Sentiments.  
And it covers any an array of get well wishes.

Maja Design has introduced a solid collection to coordinate with the Denim & Friends collection.  It's called Monochrome - Shades of Denim and it is a set of solid colors that are custom selected for the Denim & Friends papers.

Denim Get Well Wishes

I'm here with a card made from Maja Design's  fun and flirty Denim & Friends collection.

The colors and patterns in this collection look like they came straight from your favorite pair of old worn jeans and a comfortable shirt.

Here is a close up of the front.  

The stamped sentiment is from JustRite Stamps.  This is JustRite "Get Well Soon Clear Sentiment Stamp".  This stamp set is perfect for those times when you need to send a special card of encouragement and thoughtfulness.

Sending Winter Wishes - DIY Tutorial

The coldest days of winter are upon us.  These cold, dreary days are tough on many people.  

If you are a card maker, you have the ability to reach out and brighten someone's day. 

 Maja Design- "Denim & Friends" is a gorgeous collection that is perfect for the season.  

Don't let the name of the collection confuse or fool you.  The paper collection is quite versatile and can be used for so many occasions throughout the year.    

These are the papers I used from the Denim & Friends:

"Wood" 

"Leather"  - both sides

"Blue Jeans"

DIY Tutorial

I have a quick short DIY tutorial showing how I assembled the winter scene on my card.

Step 1.  Die cut the following:

           - 1 tree line die shape from Denim & Friends "Wood" paper 

           -2 tree line shapes from "Blue Jeans" paper

           - 1 tree line shape from Bazzill Basics 12x12 Foam Adhesive Sheets in White

Step 2.   Use the backside of a tree line die cut as a stencil and  lightly ink around the stencil with blue and brown ink.  I used:

            Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Faded Jeans
            Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink -Walnut Stain

Step 3.   Cut one of the tree line die shapes apart to separate some of the tree shapes for layering purposes.  Ink the edges of the individual trees to a accent and glue the diecut foam shapes to your individual trees. 

Step 4.   Start building the tree line layers on the card.  

            - bottom layer is the wood colored tree line shape 

            - middle layer is the solid tree line shape cut from "Blue Jeans" paper

            - top layer will be your choice of individual trees with the foam backing for dimension
