Spooky and Whimsical Halloween Shaker Cards - Whimsy Stamps

Whimsy Stamp - Guest Blogger
Today I am thrilled to be a special guest blogger for Whimsy Stamps as we celebrate the start to the Halloween season.   I created shakers cards using some of the sweet and some of the spooky designs.

Whimsy Stamps is more than stamps.  They have an amazing selection of unique dies with a variety of themes including build-a-scene die sets that really caught my eye.

Scroll down to see some DIY tips and instructions.

Sweet Shaker Card
Here is my first shaker card - sweet before scary - stamped onto watercolor paper and painted with watercolor pencils.
This card features a few products:

Easy DIY Instructions
Here are my easy DIY instructions:

I'd also like to take a moment to mention the embellishments added to the card. The shaker mix is Monster Mash Sprinkletz (NK150) shaker mix from Buttons Galore. Totally adorable and perfect for this crazy shaker.

I also added a 3D button Bat and spider also from Buttons Galore and More.  These are from the Happy Hauntings 3D button pack HH104. They make perfect finishing touches.

Next up - spooky.
This card features the  Whimsy Stamps - Build -a-Graveyard Die Set - designed by Deb Davis (Amped2Stamp).  Well actually this is a combo of the sweet and the spooky because I used the sentiments from Spooky Kitties Clear Stamp by Dustin Pike as the stamped sentiments  for the grave stones.

This is the wonderful way to mix and match products.  I like to keep thinking of ways to combine products to get the most "bang for my buck" as the saying goes.

Below is an image of the featured die set.

The cool shaker mix used here is also from Buttons Galore.  It's from their new product line called Jewelz.  I mixed a few different Jewelz  colors together;  Amethyst Jewelz (JZ117)  and the black are Jet Jewelz (JZ129)

If you are lime me, I needed all the Halloween colors so I bought the combo kit from Buttons Galore.  This is Halloween Jewelz Mix - JZHalloween

I want to highlight that 31 Days of Halloween hosted by the Whimsy Stamps team.  Stay tuned because there are prizes, frightful inspiration and lots of fun.

Thanks for stopping here today.  Happy crafting.

Halloween Spooky Greetings Card - Spellbinders

Spooky Halloween Card with Scroll Work - Spellbinders

Getting my Halloween cards in order.  This year my three Gray cats, "The Grays" will be assisting in the celebrations thanks to Spellbinders.

I'm combining two collections to create this card:

Here are images of the dies used today:

Open House Boo! Etched Dies from the Halloween CollectionCelebrate Scrollwork Card Builder Etched Dies from the Holiday Medley Collection by Becca Feeken

While this isn't the likely combination, it's festive and fun and my three Grays are hosting the Halloween party.

I thought Becca Feken's Celebrate Scrollwork Card Builder Dies from the Holiday Medley Collection  would make a surprise tag/card for the scrollwork base.

Below is the hidden surprise awaiting when the tag is removed.

The card was embellished with some flat sided, faceted crystals from Buttons Galore's new Jewelz - crystal embellishments "Jet Black" JZ129 also found in the Jewelz Halloween Mix  While there are many interesting and sparkly elements to the Packed Powder shaker mix,  I only needed a few crystals for this card.

The cards today were created using the paper from

DIY Paper Christmas Cactus Card with Delicate Scroll Vase - Spellbinders -with Video

Christmas Cactus DIY Cards - Spellbinders

I have several friends and family members who adore the Christmas Cactus and look forward to when it blooms. Since I have a paper thumb and not a green thumb, I need to stick to paper cactus.

Fortunately for people like me,  Spellbinders new floral collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn has a fabulous Christmas Cactus die that is easy to make and customizable. This is part of the new  "Susan's Holiday Flora" collection.  She even has vases, baskets for her flora collection however I used a die from another Spellbinder collection as the vase.

Scroll down for a quick  video tutorial from Spellbinders  showing how easy it is to create your own DIY Christmas cactus.

Spellbinders DIY Video Instructions
Here is a quick video from Spellbinders.

The paper collection used in this card is from Maja design in Sweden.   The paper I chose for this card is from Maja Design's "Winter is Coming" Collection.

The cards are embellished with some flat sided, faceted crystals from Buttons Galore's new Sparkletz shaker and embellishment mix called "Packed Powder".  While there are many interesting and sparkly elements to the Packed Powder shaker mix,  I only needed a few crystals for this card.

Here are the other adorable dies in the collection ( click here to see them all):
Here is a sample of the card I made using  the Pine Cone and Evergreen Bough Dies.  You can find the blog post here
