Heartfelt - Heart Shaker Card

 

I'm here with your today to share a card made using the fabulous "soon to be released " collection from Maja Design called "Miles Apart".  The collection will be released August 10th and will soon be shipping around the world.  

This is a "must have" collection with gorgeous soft roses, pale peach, light green, gingham patterns and all the exquisite vintage charm that sets Maja Design distinctively apart from any other paper company.   It really makes me smile because it's so beautiful.  

I'm betting Frantic Stamper will stock this collection so stay tunned. 

The collection also has a 6x6 paper pad and the matching Monochrome collection, "Shades of Miles"  with just solids.  I used the "Walnut Brown" from the monochrome collection as a background frame for my card. 

The Shaker

The chipboard  Heart with arrow Shaker  is from Creative Embellishments.  It's easy to assemble and comes with the perfectly sized acrylic window.  It's also wonderful to use for so many occasions.  

I didn't do anything special with the chipboard except ink with Walnut Stain Distress Ink by - Tim Holtz.

The best glue to use when assembling the shakers is one with a small tip  to control the amount of glue.  My favorite glue to use on shakers is Nuvo - Deluxe Adhesive because it dries clear, has a strong bond, dries fast, and has a small nozzle. 

The Shaker Mix

Every shaker needs fabulous sequin shaker mix and  is filled with Buttons Galore and More's newly released Pink Frosting Doo Dadz.  This mix is glittery and shimmery like delicate frosting roses.  Visit Buttons Galore to see the entire Doo Dadz collection. 

The Doo Dadz make great accents on cards and projects too.  That's also when the Nuvo - Adhesive and the CRYSTAL KATANA  Pick Up Tool really make me smile by enabling me to easily pick up small gems and sequins without fuss. 

I also used a beautiful 3D heart button on this card from Buttons Galore and More in my floral cluster.  This button does have a plastic shank on the back that I cut off to fit better on the card.  It's easy to cut off - no worries.

Love and Rainbows - Shaker Cards

Rainbows, Love and Shaker Cards

Today I am presenting cards full of love.  The two cards don't match in style but the theme is the same...hearts, love, and Creative Embellishments fabulously fun shakers. 

My cards featured today were created using the following chipboard shaker designs from Creative Embellishments:

The first card uses the versatile Heart Shaker Set simply painted white.  I try to keep the shaker sets less complex so the shaker becomes the star and not the technique used on the chipboard. 

In this angled view, you can also see I have painted the inside edges of the chipboard as well.  I like to do this to create a clean look.  

How to fill your shaker card? 

Shakers are so much fun to create and filling them is every bit as fun.  I used fabulous shaker mix from Buttons Galore and More/28 Lilac Lane.   The fillers come in a variety of colors and mixes with sequins, dew drops, shapes, beads, buttons and so much more. 

This particular shaker is filled with newly released and super fun shaker mix from Buttons Galore and More: Buttons Galore -Sprinkletz Candy Hearts.  These are sweet polymer clay hearts that look a lot like those favorite candy hearts.

They are easy to use and tend not to react to static inside the shaker as much as glitter and sequins.

In addition to the bold bright shaker mix, the paper is equally bold and cheerful.  It's Sunny Studio  -SUMMER SPLASH  paper.
The summer designs and bright colors make me smile.

This is the second card - very different with a romantic vibe.  

This shaker was made using Creative Embellishments - Love Shaker Set in it's natural kraft chipboard state.  No treatments needed to be done to the chipboard because it matches well with the paper.  

Here is the side view.  The LOVE shaker is such a smart and beautiful design. 

The shaker mix on this card is also from Buttons Galore and More/28 Lilac Lane.  It's a rich gold blend of traditional round sequins, fun stars and hearts shaped sequins and a coordinating collection of beads.

Chipboard Shaker Cards Filled with Love 

I've been shakin' up my summer.  Can you guess how?  

Yep - shaker cards are my recent passion.  

They are fun to make, and even more fun to shake.  And what makes them fun to shake you ask?  It's all about the shaker mix.  The mix is the magic.  

I've been captivated by the shaker mix from Buttons Galore/ 28 Lilac Lane.  Imagine sequins, buttons, beads, gems, all together in in a rainbow of colors.

This card features the shaker mixes in boxes.  They are a gorgeous blend of beads and sequins, with the addition of buttons.  The box is actually quite large with a generous portion of mix. 


What I love about the box shaker mix is that the buttons fit perfectly into the cool chipboard shaker sets from Creative Embellishments.

I opted to not use the solid heart piece in the shaker set because I wanted the beautiful patterned papers from Stamperia's GARDEN collection to show underneath.
