This month, the Unicorn kit features LemonCraft papers. wow - they are beautiful and delicate and so gorgeously floral. ahhhhh what a delight. A few posts back I told everyone that you had to cut into the Lemoncraft papers to totally enjoy them. Well not true. I forgot they had some sweet little journal cards that actually don't need to be fussy cut at all.
I took a journal card and used that as my inspiration. TYhese were included in the Flying Unicorns kit for July.
How did I do this?
1. I wanted to make a custom background for my card so I grabbed a pre-folded card and inked the edges.
2. Pulled out my watercolor paints and dabbed different watercolors to the paper while blotting dry so my card didn't warp too much. I also made sure I covered the places on the card that would show after my journal card was added.
3. I added some cardboard to the back of the journal card to add dimension. Glued it to my greeting card.
4. Added embellishments - flowers, butterflies, punched pine branches.
5. Tucked a piece of ribbon seam binding as a bow.
6. Topped with a wood sentiment. You can also stamp, or even write your own sentiment.
This was a small canvas from April's kit - I saved it to post now to remind you that pre-sale order time is near. The 20th of every month is the day to set your order in motion if you are serious about getting your hands on any of the kits for May.
Lots of fun ready to be delivered to your door. Check it out right here.

The new release of flowers from Prima will know your socks off. The brilliant burst of colors, sizes and variety offered this season is remarkable. The flower I am showcasing is the Fairfield Collection - with this color being "Sugar". You can find all the newest releases here on the Prima Blog. I made a quick card to feature the flower using the Epiphany Collection and Prima dies. I also misted the butterfly stick pin with Color Bloom mist is Tea Stain and dried it with a heat gun so the butterfly has a golden sheen to match the card.
The new flowers shall be blooming soon to all your favorite scrapbook stores.

This month's kit includes 7Dots and Prima Cartographer. Find your kit here.
This is a photo of my son. I used the chippies from Prima's Cartographer Collection for the title "Voyager". He is heading off to collage this fall and starting a whole new. exciting phase of life. I believe he will enjoy this new adventure and voyage.
Created using the 7Dots -Nature's Walk collection. You can find the collection here
The 7Dots circle stickers used below were painted with some Splash of Color Silk glazes for some accent and to tie in the colors of the flowers I used. The Silks are African Jade, Pretty Peridot, Periwinkle.
The kit also had the coolest Crafters Workshop Template - which you can see above as wavy lines. That is sold in the store individually as well.
Thanks for looking and grab your kit while they last. And they never last long.

Flowers, Flowers, Flowers - we all just love them.
Hello. Jennifer Snyder here to share some of the beautiful new release flowers from Prima Marketing. I know we all hold our breath and anxiously await the new release of flowers from Prima each January. I am presenting two projects I created with some new releases.
First up is a tag with a video showing how I put it together.
This tag is a reminder to try and dedicate a little time each day to kick our shoes and boots off, let our hair down and just relax. The Julie Nutting doll stamp I used is going to relax by hopping in the Ingvild Bolme Shabby Chic Treasures Antique Tub...lucky gal. I know that there are some folks who want to know how to create the doll stamps. The video shows this step by step.
and from the Prima Blog:
The doll clothing and tag background were created using the Free Spirit collection layered over Prima's new wooden ATC.

Next project is a 9"x12" canvas with a little woodsy feel. I was actually inspired by the copper colored Ivy Bay Invincible Leaves. I used the leaves as my jumping point.
I didn't have a photo to use with the colors I needed so I created my own focal point using Prima Paintables 813963. I colored it with Ingvild Bolme Chalk Edgers and a paint brush and a little dab of water.
Here is a photo of how I created the background of the canvas. I cut strips of paper and applied a light coat of super heavy gesso.
