JOY Christmas Card - Buttons Galore and Creative Embellishments

Tis the season for sharing joy.  So why not make a card and actually share joy, right?  Creative Embellishments shakers and Buttons Galore shaker mix were essential in my success.


The Evolution of a Shaker Design
The creative process can be an interesting journey. The idea behind this card actually started with the shaker mix.  


 Buttons Galore and More released a new product line called  Sprinkletz, which resembles candy.   The Limeade shaker mix reminded me of small spearmint candies. 
Spearmint candy reminded me of Christmas. 
Christmas reminded me of joy. 
Joy reminded me of my beloved shaker passion. 
And off I went to craft my vision. 



The Evolution of Chipboard Joy 
This particular card design was originally made with Creative Embellishments - Joy (word), which were individual letters.  I layered the backside of the "O" with foam to create room for shaker material.  I love the results and was pleased.  

Then I got to thinking that other folks would probably enjoy making a Christmas shaker with the word JOY as well so I placed a request for an actual shaker design with the letters already connected.  Thus Creative Embellishments - Joy Shaker  was born.  

The Finishing Touches - Embellishments 

The final embellishments to finish the card are 3D Buttons from Buttons Galore, and a few red "peppermint" candy pieces from the Sprinkletz collection called "Very Cherry".

Family Memories Layout

I took a great photo of my mom with her two sisters in 2017.  It's one of my favorite images of the three ladies who have been so important in my life.  My sweet Aunt on the right is no longer with us, and this photo captures her spirit so perfectly - happy, joyful and full of love.  

I love that Creative Embellishments has been so instrumental in helping to decorate this layout and to capture my feelings.   My Aunt was a bright star in my life so I was excited to grab the newly released Falling Stars Stencil to accent the chipboard circle frame, Stars in My Universe. 

When I look at the  Stars in My Universe circle frame, it has a lot of symbolism for me.  

It's the universe; it's the stars in the heavens; it's the endless and perfect circle of love; it's my family filled with the stars of my life.  It's strong and magnificent.

I kept the treatments of the chipboard very simple - painting the pieces with white acrylic  and inking the word "family " with Distress Ink in Wilted Violet after the paint was dry.

I used the Creative Embellishments Falling Stars Stencil with some Distress Ink in Wilted Violet.

Flowers, Butterflies and Spellbinders Dies

Being a member of the Spellblogger Team for Spellbinders,  I have the very fun honor of showcasing some of the gorgeous new dies from Spellbinders. 

This month, I have been asked to feature the Amazing Paper Grace  - Chantilly Paper Lace collection designed by Becca Feeken .

 I chose Annabelle's Trousseau Layering Frame.

Here's a look at the beautiful die set.

I also accented the frame die using 

Spellbinders Layered Leaf Vines - Timeless Heart Collection by Marisa Job.  These are sweet versatile vine dies that can be tucked into any floral cluster.  

I die cut several vines using white cardstock, then inked the tips of the leaves with  Distress Ink Oxides in Peacock Feathers and

Crushed Olive.

I wanted to pull out the orange color from the flowers on the patterned paper from Lemoncraft, so I accented the vines using Crystal Drops from Nuvo.

Lemoncraft Farewell Post - Part 2 (Cards)

Hello, I'm here today for my last post with LemonCraft.  Thanks for this wonderful opportunity to create with such gorgeous papers.   My last post is a two part post with the first post as a tutorial featuring the new Gossamer Blue collection.   The second post is a set of cards also created using the Gossamer Blue collection - for Christmas and everyday - to show the versatility of the collection.

Here are some cards that I created with the LemonCraft Gossamer Blue 6x6 paper pad.    I made some Christmas cards and one everyday greeting card tpo show how versatile this collection is. 

I have a few other products incorporated into this page - chipboards from 2Crafty, flowers from Petaloo and a die from Prima.  

The snowflake is a chipboard piece from 2Crafty called "Fine Snowflakes" m00102. 

Here is another card using the 6x6 paper and the beautiful Gossamer Blue paper as well as Lemoncraft Gossamer Blue Ribbons.  I added some beautiful brown ribbon from Lemoncraft for accent.  

I used chipboard deer from 2Crafty  - Young Reindeer  and inked the chipboard with Walnut Stain, Distress ink.  The chipboard deer is nestled atop a die from JustRite Papercrafts.  

And the last card created using LemonCraft Gossamer Blue 6x6 paper along with the sweet Lemoncraft  buttons from Gossamer Blue as well as the Lemoncraft Gossamer Blue Ribbons.      This card features Vintage Time 06 sheet from the collection, shown below.  Isn't this simply wonderful?

Winter Deer Layout with DIY Tutorial - LemonCraft Part 1

Hello, I'm here today for my last post with LemonCraft.  Thanks for this wonderful opportunity to create with such gorgeous papers.   My last post is a two part post with the first post as a tutorial featuring the new Gossamer Blue collection.   The second post is a set of cards also created using the Gossamer Blue collection - for Christmas and everyday - to show the versatility of the collection.

I decided to give the collection a winter look.  I wanted to create a page for the photo of deer that I took from my office parking lot.  Yes - this was taken from my car in the parking lot.  They are pretty close to me - but we are friends so they won't run away from me.  

(wink). 

I have a few other products incorporated into this page - chipboards from 2Crafty, flowers from Petaloo and a die from Prima.

Instructions: 

Step 1.  Rip a 12x12 sheet of Gossamer Blue 03 , making sure the white core of the paper is showing.  Ink the torn edges. 

Step 2.  Place a sheet of white cardstock under the torn section.  Tear the piece of wood grain paper from Gossamer 02 12x12 paper and glue to cardboard.  

Step 3.  Cut the doily shape from the die cut sheet of Lemoncraft Vintage Time 007.  Add a die cut doily also.  These are going to be layered to create a snowflake.  

Step 4.  Cut the center from the doily die shape - and layer the snowflake together as shown in the photo.  

Step 5.  Tuck the snowflakes under the cardboard and on the page as desired.  Start embellishing the page.  I used chipboard deer from 2Crafty - the small deer is 2Crafty Chipboard's - Young Reindeer  and the larger deer is from 2Crafty Chipboard - Elegant Reindeer .   I inked the edges of the chipboard with Walnut Stain, Distress ink.  

Step 6.  Fold the bottom corner up and add a snowflake to the corner.  Add flowers to embellish.    

Step 7.  I added snowflake paste for some sparkle.
