The dreamcatcher is a protective talisman that is used to protect people from nightmares and bad dreams. The charm was usually used for young children and hung above their cradles or beds. My youngest son used to love to sleep with his dreamcatcher over his bed.
Here are the images of the chipboard pieces used today: Creative Embellishments Dream Catcher 1 - chipboard and Creative Embellishments ATC Coin Rings with acrylic sheets
The Dream Catcher 1 - chipboard pieces were quite easy to turn into shakers because the ATC Coin Rings fit perfectly.
I painted all the pieces with acrylic paint, then inked the feathers with various Distress Inks (Crackling Campfire , Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade) to match the Little Birdie patterned paper. Once dry, I assembled the layers of the shaker and filled with shaker mix from Buttons Galore. Scroll down for more information on the shaker mix used.
The first card has the dream catcher as the top layer over the rings. I added foam under the feathers to provide extra support for the chipboard pieces.
Here is the second card. The dream catcher is the base layer lying flat on the paper. No need for foam under the chipboard feathers. The ATC rings layers are added on top. The feathers are also accented with Doo Dadz. Because the gems have a flat side they are easy to glue to projects for a touch of shimmery glam.
The papers used today are from Little Birdie Boho Dreams 12x12 Scrapbook paper
