A Glimpse of My Mom

The February kit from the Flying Unicorn, featuring Riddersholm's Newport collection, provided me with the perfect inspiration for a vintage photo of my mom.

I used some fabulous 2Crafty chipboard pieces to accent this layout.  As shown below, I used a title piece, "A Glimpse of You", "Chicken Wire Panel" and the "ATC Folk Hearts". (You can find 2Crafty chipboard at the Flying Unicorns right here)

The vintage photo is of my mom as a little girl with her Aunt Julia.  The photos were taken on Aunt Julia's farm where it was fun for the little kids to feed the chickens - thus the "chicken wire panel".  The title, "A Glimpse of You", is appropriate for any for any vintage photo .  It's a snippet of a moment in time into my mom's life back when...  The "ATC Folk Hearts", well they speak for themselves.  I also have such fond memories of this farm and our Sunday visits to see Aunt Julia and the rest of the family.

To start the background work, I used this 6x6 Prima Stencil in  wood texture  along with some distress inks to add more texture to the page.

So how did I finish my chipboard pieces? I inked them with distress inks, topped them with DecoArt Clear Crackle Glaze.    then sprinkled them with micro beads while the clear crackle medium was wet.

Here is a close up of the "Glimpse of You".  I did not add micro beads to this, but I did coat in crackle medium.

Thanks for dropping by.  I appreciate you.
