Flying Unicorn Small Art Big Passion

I know I have said this before...but I love the Small Art Big Passion mini kit that is available each month.  I do think it is my favorite part of all the Kits offered.  You can make a months worth of cards, tags, small gifts and something for yourself. 

The Small Art Big Passion never fails to have amazing embellishments and papers and fascinating items in the package. The paper featured in the Small Arts Big Passion this month was Bo Bunny Garden Journal.  Such a soft and wonderful floral and nature theme with  wildflowers flowers and birds. 

I decided that a simple card was in order to let the beauty of the Bo Bunny collection shine.  Super easy and done in about 10 min.   I have my steps below. 

Step 1.  I always start with a pre-folded card because I stink at scoring. And pre-folded cards are cheap and standard sizes so no guessing with envelop sizes.  Lightly Ink the edges.

Step 2.  Cut a background layer a wee bit ( that is a technical term) smaller than the card.  Ink edges. 

Step 3.  Select a BoBunny journal card and ink edges.  Do not glue yet... do steps 4 and 5 first!

Step 4.  Decide where your chipboard flowers will be placed on the journal card and then glue a strip of lace.  

Step 5.  Wrap some hemp twine around the journal card and tie a bow.  NOW you can glue down to card. I also added a strip of gray trim from the kit.

Step 6.  Add Bo Bunny chipboard flowers and stickers.

June Flying Unicorns KOM Card

Flying Unicorns Your Passion Your Art

This is a card layout I made with the June Your Passion Your Art kit for the Flying Unicorns.  This month featured 13Arts wonderful soft Starlight collection.  It has a lot of great pastel colors so I thought I would make my layout something soft and dainty as well. 

The doily stamp is from Bo Bunny.  It's Bo Bunny Essentials collection - stitches and came with the kit .  I love this to pieces.  I thought it would make a great focal point in my card.  Oh yeah, almost forgot.  The stitching at the top of the card is also part of the Bo Bunny clear stamp

The sentiment is wood from 13Arts.  They have fascinating wood embellishments. 

My flowers are from the kit as well.  A mix of Petaloo and Prima - plus some floral berries tucked in here and there from my stash.  I love to add floral berries because they are inexpensive and add some fun pops.

The kit also came with some cool wooden 13Arts sentiments a sort of mix and match  set of words.

Maja Design Inspiration Post

Inspiration Day at Maja Design

Maja Design recently had Inspiration Day.  You can see the post here. 

I chose my dad as he has been a big inspiration in my life.  This is his Navy photo.  He's about 20 years old here and so full of adventure, excited for the future, serving his country and protecting freedom.  

Fast forward 55 years and my dad is proud of his service to his country, his time aboard the USS Taconic and the love for his country and family. 

I couldn't think of anything more appropriate than to pair up Maja Life by the Sea and some 2Crafty chipboard. I used the Anchors, flag banners seen a little further down, and the Hand drawn Stars. 

Life by the Sea is perhaps my favorite collection - though I typically say that as each new collection is released.  But I do love the rustic classic Americana feel I get when looking at the collection - while never intending it to be such.

You can see the mix and match patterns of the Life By the Sea are so subtle and wonderful together - not overstated and not clashing crazy.   You can also see how amazingly detailed the 2Crafty chipboard anchor is.  Love this - which is why I decided to not cover it with paint, enamel or anything to compromise the gorgeous detail.

The Small Art Big Passion never fails to have amazing embellishments and papers and fascinating items in the package. The Petaloo Flowers this month are soft and wispy feeling. 

This month a tag  and envelope came in the kit.  I decided to make a quick tag set - or maybe a gift card set.   Super easy and done in about 10 min.   I have my steps below. 

Turned the tag into a little note card..a Petaloo flower, some punched leaves, twine and BoBunny journal cards.  Done!

I took one of the BoBunny journal cards and bent it to make a flap.  I used the flap and the folk on my tag.
