Happy Cheery DIY Cards with Spellbinders Card Kits

Spellbinders Card Club Kit for September
Did you know Spellbinders has monthly card kits?
Yes it's true.  They are packed with absolutely everything you need to start creating lovely, fun and whimsical cards.  The kit even includes adhesive.

I am playing with Spellbinders Card Club for Sept 18 and focusing on the die cuts, stamps and foil stickers from the kit.

Included in the Sept 18 Card kit box was a pack of die cuts and a fun assortment of embellishments from stamps to flowers, stickers and of course the fabulous dies that come each month.
I used a few of the die cuts on the card today to make a happy and colorful birthday/celebration card.
The paper I chose from the Spellbinders paper pad has some abstract foil polka dots.  It's definitely cheery and happy paper.

Oh and the accompanying foil puffy stickers from the kit?  They ROCK!

A little more about the kit

Spellbinders really has assembled a great versatile kit.  It's doesn't have just one theme so you are not stuck on one theme all month long.  It's got cars, and feminine flowers, sea creatures and bold stripes.  Masculine or feminine - child or adult, they have thought of it all.

Below is a photo of the contents of the  Spellbinders Card Club for Sept 18.
If you need/want additional supplies, Spellbinders even sells card kit extras/add-ons including the stamp set, inspirational silver foil stickers, paper pad, etc.
You can find information on the card club right here:  Spellbinders Card Club information
Spellbinders also offers previous card club kits
based on availability.
This is my second card today.  A simple card, but I think it has a lot to say.

I made my own embellishment with the Sunshiny Day Clear Stamp Set.
I drew a circle first so I knew where to stamp, then I added the stamped words " happy, awesome, friend, love" to create a type of circle frame.

Warm Welcoming Pineapple Card - DIY Cards with Spellbinders

Spellbinders Card Club Kit for September
Did you know Spellbinders has monthly card kits?
Yes it's true.  They are packed with absolutely everything you need to start creating, including adhesive.

I am playing with Spellbinders Card Club for Sept 18 and I'd love to share  the card I made with Sept18's kit.

Included in the Sept 18 Card kit box was a pack of die cuts.  I used a few of the die cuts on the card today including the pineapple.  The sweet green stars are part of the puffy stickers included in the kti as well.

The Meaning of the Pineapple in Decor and in Our House
The pineapple is recognized as an expression of warmth, friendship and welcoming in the south and on the East Coast.   That's the reason the pineapple image is so popular.

In our house, the pineapple is a beloved symbol.  When my boys were toddlers, my mother had a pineapple candle.  For reasons unknown, my two young children were captivated by the candle.  She had the candle for years until she thought the time had come to change out the home decor.

My boys snagged the prized pineapple candle and it's had a beloved home ever since.
This is a photo of the pineapple the evening before my son moved 1000 miles away.  I had to take a photo.  Yes - he took his pineapple with him.

I am mailing this card to my son.  He will love it and it will certainly bring a smile to his face.

Pop-Up Twist Birthday Wish Card

Today I'd like to here to present a pop-up twist card featuring two of my favorite product combinations - beautiful fun papers from Maja Design in Sweden and wonderful Creative Embellishments chipboard.

Since this card is a pop-up twist card, it's a bit of a surprise when it's opened.  Add on the chipboard and it's a real birthday treat complete with birthday cupcake. adding charm.

Here are the Creative Embellishments chipboard pieces I used on the cover of the card.

What I especially love about the Small Sentiment Words chipboard set is the variety of sentiments and the number of cards, projects you can create with just one set.  Such a value.

Here is a close up of the front of the card.  I simply painted the chipboard pieces white to pop when added to the bright red Maja Design papers.

I have used  Maja Design's "Life in the Country" collection on my card. The collection is bright and happy and feels like a sunny day.  That is exactly the feeling one should have when opening a birthday card.  Well that's the feeling I like to have.

These are the papers I chose:
In My Flower Bed (both A&B side of paper)
Summer Kitchen (both A&B side of paper)
Strawberries with Ice

As I mentioned, this pop-up twist card offers some surprises.

These are the Creative Embellishments  chipboard and veneer pieces that I used as little surprises on the inside of the card.  I tend to keep the chipboard simple with ink and paint.  Nothing too fancy.

The pop-up twist die is from Karen Burniston's die collections.

Thanks for stopping here today.

Hugs and Kisses and Butterfly Wishes

Sending a card to someone does two things  - it brings joy to the person receiving the card and it adds joy to your heart knowing you have made someone's day and touched their life.

Bright and bold greeting cards add the extra element of lightness, cheer, happiness.
Sometimes that little bit of colorful cheer can make all the difference in raising the spirit of a person who needs a bit of emotional support and a smile.

When you send a card - it's like sending a hug and a smile from afar.

I created this cheery bright card using some stamps from JustRite Papercrafts:

This card was easy to create by stamping the JustRite Doodled Loopy Loops Background Stamp first  and then adding your touch of color after the ink dries.

Perfect Card For Kids Projects
This particular card is perfect for kids to make.  There is stamping and coloring involved and butterflies for added fun.
I chose to color with inexpensive watercolor paints so I used watercolor paper - however you can use colored pencils, crayons, markers - whatever you have on hand for the kids.

Just make sure the ink is dry first.
