DIY Thanksgiving Cards Made Easy with Chipboard

I'm here to present some Thanksgiving Cards perfect for the season.  We all have friends or family that cannot be with us at the dinner table.  Sending a card is the perfect way to let them know you are thinking of them.

Creative Embellishments has some amazing chipboard and wood veneer pieces to help your creative process easy and quick.

Creative Embellishments also has a monthly challenge on the blog.  The rules are easy - you simply need to use a piece of CE chipboard, be inspired to create, post on the CE blog right here.

These are the products I used on the cards:

My paper is choice is from Reminisce - Best of Autumn Collection kit

The scallop edge was created using Spellbinders Card Creator A2 Scalloped Borders One.

The  Pumpkins  were painted with various acrylic paints:

Here is the second card I made for the challenge.
This card features the  Creative Embellishments Acorn Veneers which I adore.   I've inked them slightly for some accent.

Pop-Up Twist Birthday Wish Card

Today I'd like to here to present a pop-up twist card featuring two of my favorite product combinations - beautiful fun papers from Maja Design in Sweden and wonderful Creative Embellishments chipboard.

Since this card is a pop-up twist card, it's a bit of a surprise when it's opened.  Add on the chipboard and it's a real birthday treat complete with birthday cupcake. adding charm.

Here are the Creative Embellishments chipboard pieces I used on the cover of the card.

What I especially love about the Small Sentiment Words chipboard set is the variety of sentiments and the number of cards, projects you can create with just one set.  Such a value.

Here is a close up of the front of the card.  I simply painted the chipboard pieces white to pop when added to the bright red Maja Design papers.

I have used  Maja Design's "Life in the Country" collection on my card. The collection is bright and happy and feels like a sunny day.  That is exactly the feeling one should have when opening a birthday card.  Well that's the feeling I like to have.

These are the papers I chose:
In My Flower Bed (both A&B side of paper)
Summer Kitchen (both A&B side of paper)
Strawberries with Ice

As I mentioned, this pop-up twist card offers some surprises.

These are the Creative Embellishments  chipboard and veneer pieces that I used as little surprises on the inside of the card.  I tend to keep the chipboard simple with ink and paint.  Nothing too fancy.

The pop-up twist die is from Karen Burniston's die collections.

Egg-Stra Special Easter Cards

Spring/ Easter Cards
I'm ready to celebrate a bit of spring and Easter with an EGGstravaganza  of adorable   embellishments for Easter and Spring.
I have some darling Spring/Easter paper  that I thought I'd use up.  Gasp...I know!  Actually use some papers from my stash?  What a crazy idea.

So to balance out my crazy side,  I thought I'd be sensible and shop for chipboard accents for the cards.  BAM!  I found the cutest Easter chipboard  and veneer selection at
Creative Embellishments.  I just couldn't resist making a few Easter cards to send to my family.

These are the pieces I used:
My first card features my favorite bunnies.  These mini Veneer wood Bunnies are way too cute.  They just melt my heart and make me smile.

First of all, I adore bunnies -and mini bunnies are cuteness overload.
The papers I am using are from Doodlebug Design - 6x6 Easter Express.

My first pet as an adult was a white house bunny.  He was a master snuggler.
I think he was the reason I dabbed the tiny wood veneer bunnies with a bit of white acrylic paint.  The little guy with his cotton tail facing us has an adhesive pearl gem for his cotton tail.
  Easy.
This is my second card made for an egg-stra special relative.
The chipboard eggs - Fun Eggs - were painted white and gussied up with ribbon.  Festive and yet pretty clean.

My last card is a combo of the Veneer wood Bunnies , the Fun Eggs, and my sentiment word from the Small Family Border Word Set.

I kept the treatments of the chipboard and wood veneer easy by using acrylic paints.   They don't need a lot of fuss to be spEGGtacular.
The beautiful heart die cut is from Spellbinders - Lace Hearts .

Hope Keepsake Box

Hope Box - Happy Anniversary Home Decor
Today I am sharing an altered box I made using Maja Design's new collection, Celebrations.   This collection is super special because it celebrates Maja Design's 10th anniversary.  10 years!

My box project was created for the Feb. Mood Board, as seen above.   The challenge is open to interpretation - which your choice of colors, words, images as inspiration.

Come Join the Mood Board Challenge at Maja Design.
These are the papers I used to decorate the box.
Flower Giveaway
Jubilee (Both A and B sides of paper)

This new collection is absolutely stunning in person.  It's also versatile providing a great selection of blues and masculine colors/patterns for stronger masculine cards and projects.

A little about the box.  It's a cheap pine treat/trinket box bought in the clearance section after Christmas.  The paper is perfect because it covers the Christmas Greeting on the top.
I covered the sides, top and even the inside of the box with this collection.

I'd like to just gush a bit about the Creative Embellishments Wood Veneer Conversation Hearts.  These are the cutest conversation hearts I've ever seen.  They each have a word on the front, like your typical candy conversation heart - but the backside is blank giving the wood heart amazing versatility.  I've presented the hearts both ways on my project.

Next a bit about the Dream Word Set.  This chipboard set comes with five words: Hope, Dream, Wish, Imagine, Joy.  That means you can potentially create five cards/projects with these.  What an amazing value -( Hope, Dream, Wish, Imagine, Joy).

Thanks for stopping.
