Autumn Leaves and Hedgehogs- Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month

Calling all nature lovers!  The Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month for September is full of autumn colored goodness from the forest (and more) - gnomes to hedgehogs and a ton of whimsical things in between.    

Introducing the September Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month  - Whimsical Forest. 

The die set this month with coordinating stamp set is way too.  You can see the images of the complete kit and die set for September below:

The cards presented today utilized a variety of products included in the kit this month.  

The card above has a darling hedgehog, nestled in a cozy bed of leaves and mushrooms.  I've never seen a hedgehog that didn't make me smile. The hedgehog is part of the 3D sticker set included this month.  Additionally, the card features die cuts and a puffy star sticker.  I also used the die to make a border on the card by cutting the frame apart.   

The second card is a nod to the beginning of cooler weather - however the non-traditional colors for autumn make me think it's only a nod and not a full commitment to autumn.  I'm not ready to usher chilly fall yet.  

This month, some of the packaged die cuts have gold foil accents.  Spellbinders kit box includes a piece of gold foiled cardstock to match the beautiful gold foil on the packaged die cuts.  It's very hard to show the brilliance of foiled papers in a photo however the image above shows how beautiful the gold foil on the die cuts is.  They really are exquisite. 

As in the first card, the second card also features the 3D stickers and frame die.

Floral Shaker Cards Straight From The Garden

I'm sharing shaker cards created for the August challenge at Creative Embellishments. These cards are blooming with the colors of a beautiful garden in August. 

Below is the image for the challenge.  Let the image inspire you to create any project you want but you must use a product from Creative Embellishments.  

 First Card  

I used some newly released designs to create my floral shaker.  Here are the chipboard pieces used on this card: 

********************************************************************************* Creative Embellishments -Circle Shaker - Chipboard Shaker Set     Creative Embellishments - Berries Creative Embellishments - Leaves Set 1 ********************************************************************************* I painted the chipboard with various layers of acrylic paint - starting with white/light ivory.  I prefer the white/ivory as a base coat when I want the final chipboard project to be lighter or pastel.   The stippled effect on the chipboard pieces was caused by  dabbing paint with a dry sea sponge.   The magic of a shaker card happens when the shaker mix is added.  With that in mind, I picked my Creative Embellishments chipboard and shaker mix from  28 Lilac Lane / Buttons Galore and More.  28 Lilac Lane WISTERIA HUES Sequin Mix PS600 My paper choice for this card is from Stamperia - Lilac Flowers.  It's a dreamy 12x12 floral collection with all the beautiful purple flowers and butterflies straight from the storybook garden.  Stamperia - Scrapbooking 12 x 12 Collection Pack - Lilac Flowers Second Card   I used some newly released designed to create the second floral shaker inspired by the August Challenge at Creative Embellishments.   I used 28 Lilac Lane's WISTERIA HUES Sequin Mix on this card as well.  It's just a gorgeous mix of greens and purples with the prefect touch of  rose pink.    Here are the chipboard and paper used on this second card. Autumn Goodness Cards

Let's Celebrate with Spellbinders and a DIY Class

I love the colors and symbols of autumn.  Leaves, reds, oranges and warm browns.  Apple picking and cider drinking.  I am certainly most thankful for all the blessings around me.

Spellbinders dies helped me celebrate the season and enabled me to send joy to someone special.  

(I am also teaching a class with these two cards.  If you scroll down this page, I'll share the class information)

This is my first card.  The color of the card actually reminds me of cinnamon - a great scent for the season.  

I've got a few cool dies I used on this card.

I did add a few embellishments for some drama; the sequins and tiny floral berries complete my floral cluster.  

The gorgeous border work is from Spellbinders ...Spellbinders Shapabilities - Swirled Strip Etched Die .  Very cool - I'm in love.
