Naples Sunset - ZVA Creative and Flying Unicorns Kit of the Month - Rays of Magic

This is the sunset on Naples beach in Florida.   I love this place and I never tire of the sunsets. The name of the kit of so perfect for how I feel about this place.  Rays of Magic.

So every year when it comes time to pack my suitcase, I stick my tripod into my case and leave out some shoes.  A great choice for me as I have more fun with my camera than I have with sandals. Don't get me wrong  - I love sandals too - but I can buy some when I am there.

We go to the beach at sunset - every night.  I set my tripod up.  Husband sets his beach chair up.  Works out perfectly and we are both happy.  I must have a hundred or more sunset shots yet each sunset is so different in drama and color.  I always tell my husband that this one is even prettier than the night before.

Then I pick up some shells and stash them away to bring home and use on my art stuff. Makes my projects extra special for me.

The black of the ZVA Creative pearl flourish represents the dark shadows of the water.

These are some of the shells I picked up at this beach.  Every year I swear I shall bring no more shells  home, and every year I am fibbing.  I love finding them - just the tiny ones that will look good on pages and projects.

Here is the Flying Unicorn metal Adornment found only at the Flying Unicorns.  I painted mine with Adirondack paints in Copper and Sunshine Yellow.

I added a lot of molding paste with a palette knife and let it dry.  Then I topped with Clearsnap Donna Salazar Mixd Media Inx in Schoolhouse and Butternut.  Love these inks.  They are bold and full of pigment.

Happy Friday to you all.  And I do hope it is a great one.  For me?  Gonna be great as the weather where I am turns warm and the flowers bloom.  We are in Spring!

Time for me to pull out the gorgeous  Vintage Spring Basics collection and pair them up with some girly ZVA bling to celebrate Spring. 

This is called Pose For Me.  It's a photo I took of my little niece as she begged me to take her picture.  I created this piece with Maja Design  Vintage Spring Basics 7th of April BAS-607 for the background, 8th of April  BAS-608 for my strip, and 10th of April BAS-610 for the punched circle.

You can see I added some ZVA Creative taupe pearls and florals to give the layout some added life and energy.  I also blended my florals into my piece by painting the tops with gesso to give them that frosted look. 

 In this shot I added the ZVA Creative Flourish Taupe in Pearl CRB-06CA-112

I ripped some white cardboard from an old box to use as a photo mat.   I save old boxes that are white.  Drives my husband a little nutty but white boxes are hard to find.  I try to hide them in my scrappy stash but boxes are a little hard to hide.  Oh, but I try!

I added a little masking with purple mist for accents.
