Today it's all about the moon and stars. I'm presenting some cosmic cards today to kick off the April's monthly challenge at Creative Embellishments.
These cards feature some of the coolest, most unique chipboard Artist Trading Coins on the market - designed by Creative Embellishments. I love them because they are perfect for my needs -card making.
I used the following chipboard pieces embossed with Stampendous Aged Gold Embossing Powder:

This is the image for the Creative Embellishments April Challenge. It's earthy, artistic and mysterious. It conjures thoughts of both the heavens and nature.
The twist was to incorporate wood into the project. I played it safe and used wood grain background paper on my cards.
This was created as a birthday card for my dad. He is a woodworker. He loves nothing more than to putter in his workshop and create. I guess I am definitely my dad's daughter because I like to putter and create in my craft space. I got the creative gene from dad.
The constellations are important to him because they are a frequent recurring theme in his dreams signifying heaven and a visual place where he can look up and think of family members that have passed.
The images below were from a recent project we worked on together.
The sentiment stamp used on the card is from Spellbinders/ FSJ ( Inside & Out Stamp Set) and is stamped using a rich brown ink also from Spellbinders/Fun Stampers Journey called Cocoa Powder True Color Fusion Ink .
If you'd like to really make the stamp pop, then immediately cover the ink with clear embossing powder to heat set. The clear embossing and heat setting seals the ink and gives a nice smooth sheen to the stamp making it pop a bit.

Here is the second card I created for the challenge.
I love the warm colors on this card with the orange and blue color combo.
