Shabby Chic Country Shaker Ornament

Over the past several months, I've had an opportunity to share many shaker projects using buttons and shaker mix from Buttons Galore and More.   They bring joy to me and make me smile as I create. 

Did you know Buttons Galore and More also has Embellishments Kits ?  These boxes contain all the beautiful goodies you need to make a festive bead/button filled project.  

I used the Embellishments Kit called Plaid Party  for the shaker ornament featured today.  I'm a crazy big fan of gingham so this set was a treat for me to use.  

I also topped the ornament with a darling 3D candy cane  button from Buttons Galore.  They have the sweetest selection of 3D Buttons and they make adorable quick embellishments.

Spellbinders has made it easy and convenient for everyone to purchase some of the elements of the monthly club kit "a la carte" without being a member of the monthly card club kit. 

These are called "Extras".

The card presented today was created using the EXTRAS from the "Hey Foxy" December Card extras available for individual sale.  

The "Extras" are embellishments and elements from the kit that can be purchased individually from Spellbinders. Here's a link to this month's Extras from the Spellbinders Store.  Each month the selection of extras changes, however the dies are not available as extras. 

Below is a look at the extras available this month.  They include a layered sticker pack, the 6x6 paper pad,  beautiful packaged die cut shapes and a stamp set.

Winter Pine Cone Card - Spellbinders Layered Kaleidoscope Die

Wonderful Options Using Layered Dies from Spellbinders

Continuing the magical wonder of the layered die, Spellbinders has introducing a new die to add to the collection.  Oh the options and intrigue one can create with these dies.  This is the Kaleidoscope Petals Etched Die. This is also the prefect compliment and addition to the Large Die of the Month for December, the Kaleidoscope Trio Strips and Borders.

My card uses the petals as frosty winter pine cones.  

The image below shows the die designs with various shades of blue.  The darker shades indicate layering.

The base layer here is the silver.  I really had to play around with the layers to decide which I preferred.  Oh the choices - fun for a paper person.  

The glittered silver became the base layer because I wanted to keep the glitter look to a minimum with only accents of frosty appeal.  

The paper used on this card is Ciao Bella - Time For Home 12x12 Paper.  The winter scenes in this collection are peaceful and delightful.  One of those collections that's difficult to cut apart and yet needs to be displayed on projects for others to enjoy.

Spellbinders club dies are designed for versatility and to be used together.  This month, the die choices are perfect for layering and creating texture and depth on a card.  

The card today combines the  Large Die of the Month for December  and the Small Die of the Month.
