When my mind interpreted this, I saw Christmas.  An ornate and holiday theme was in order - in my mind at least.  My co-worker is having a gala open house in her turn of the century 1900's home for Christmas.  She is the recipient.  She is going to hang it in her entranceway.   I couldn't be happier. 

My paper choices are from wonderful Maja Design with chipboard pieces from 2Crafty.  Both companies had my mind spinning because their Christmas selections are too fabulous and abundant to make any decisions easy.

The Maja Design is the classic  Christmas - Gammaldags Jul collection with traditional colors and patterns. The 2Crafty chipboard pieces are 2Crafty Chipboard - Holly Vine Wreath,  Prancing Reindeer, mini corners.  

There are mini pinecones glued here and sequins to adorn this and make it festive.

2Crafty Project for Sept - Baby Mini-Album

Hello.  Jennifer Snyder here with you  sharing a baby photo album.  I created this for a special friend who is having her first child.  Since 2Crafty has some wonderful baby chipboard pieces, I thought an adorned photo album would be an ideal gift for new parents. 

With all those photos excited new parents take, they will most certainly need a brag book to pass around at every opportunity.  

The hardest part for me was choosing which chipboard pieces I would use. 

So first, let me tell you which 2Crafty chipboard pieces made it onto this little baby project:

2Crafty products used:

"Carousel Horse" 

I kept my chipboard pieces very simple in terms of surface treatments.  On the close up below, I selected the "Funky Frames" (fr0021) and the word "Precious - Loopy Font".

I decided to paint them both yellow and accent with light pink ink of the edges.

The photo below shows my focal point as the chipboard piece "I Just (Heart) This Kid".  For consistency, I also painted and inked the edges for accent.  As a final touch, I did outline the words and heart with a glitter gel pen.

The photo doesn't really show the delicate sparkle - like angel kisses on the chipboard.  At least that's what I think.

I have selected the "Carousel Horse",  unit code (m00050), as the perfect end page of my photo album.
I coated this with embossing enamel with gold flecks mixed in it.

Here are some close ups of the chipboard pieces.   You can see what a beautiful and delicate design the "Carousel Horse" is.   The little sentiments  I used were printed on my computer and sized to fit.

FabScraps Oh Sew Beautiful Collection - Vintage Beauty

 FabScraps "Oh Sew Beautiful" 

This is FabScraps "Oh Sew Beautiful" collection.  It's  quite a magnificent  new collection of elegance and originality the way only our friends in South Africa at FabScraps can do. 

The photo image I used is from Magic Moonlight Free Images - the place to get vintage images that are free of copyright restrictions.  You don't want to be messing with those nasty copyright lawyers.  YIKES!

I was completely inspired by the image, the realized the FabScraps papers accented her so beautifully (Sew Beautifully I should say).  

You can see a wonderful stick pin from Mandy Harrell aka Crafty Sprinkles in the crafting world.   It's tucked under the fabulous chippie dress form from FabScraps - as part of this collection.  

 The Mannequin Chipboard ( product DC68013) has a coordinating die cut that one can glue on top of the chipboard as I have done.  It's made to match the paper collection and give you options on adorning the chippies that are made specifically for the collection. 

I added some Prima flowers, mists and sequins for accents.  You can see the product list as you scroll to the end of the post.   I also added some step by step instructions as to how I created this.  Super easy!!!

For This Project You Will Need

• FabScraps  – Oh Sew Beautiful Industrial  – Mannequin Chipboard DC68013
• FabScraps – Oh Sew Beautiful Collection – Journal Set Dies MC68001A
• FabScraps – Oh Sew Beautiful Collection – Floral Mannequin C68004
• Doily die or paper doilies - 
• Flowers - Prima Joulee Violet 567118
• Sequins
•  Lace Trim – Flowers
• Cardboard
• Heat Gun and embossing enamel, embossing ink
• Gesso or white paint
• Stick pin or beads and various trims (Stick pin from Mandy Harrell)
• Mists – Purple and green - Prima Color Bloom Iris 573744 and Lime Wedge 573850

Instructions

1.     Background  Preparation:

2.     Start with FabScraps Oh Sew Beautiful  Collection – Haberdashery paper C68008 as the base.

3.     Apply a thin uneven layer of gesso or white paint to the background paper  on the center of the page.  Let dry.

4.     Lightly splatter  purple mist on page in a few areas.  Do not be heavy handed and over-mist.  Hit with heat gun and when almost dry, dab with towel to remove the remaining wet area of mist.  This makes a cool water drip effect.

5.     Repeat step 4 with green mist.

6.     Photo Preparation:

7.     Cut a rectangle of cardboard that is slightly bigger than your photo.  Rip the top and bottom edges so the corrugation shows.

8.     Paint the cardboard with white paint. Let dry.

9.     Cover the edges with white embossing enamel and heat set.

10.   Glue photo to the cardboard.

11.   Glue to page.
