Dancin' Santa Christmas Card - Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month 

 Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month for October is joyful and certainly festive. This kit provides everything you need to make Christmas Holiday cards for anyone on your list.  And the die set this month?  Adorable. The kit is called "Dancin' Santa" so that says a ton!

Here is the die set for October.  So adorable. You can make his little Santa legs move and dance n the card as well. Spellbinders has a video showing how to make the Santa dance.

The first card is Merry and Bright.  The sentiment is from the wonderful stamp set that is included in the kit this month.  I have embossed the stamp using Spellbinders/ Fun Stampers Journey Clear Pigment Ink Pad and Fun Stampers -Journey Gold- Embossing Powder.   The gold embossing power is very fine so it leaves a smooth finish. 

 

Here is the second santa card wishing everyone Merry Christmas.  The sentiment on this card is also from the stamp set included in the kit for October and is inked with Fun Stampers Journey -Black Licorice True Color Fusion Ink Pad - quite possibly my favorite black ink of any brand.  The pigmentation is amazing leaving a rich dark image and I can use with watercolors because it doesn't bleed.  In this situation, no watercolors were used - but just wanted to let you know why I love it so much.  

And as always, the dies for Spellbinders monthly clubs are exclusive to Spellbinders and you won't find them anywhere else.

Christmas in July is in full swing.  Authentique Paper's new holiday collection, "A Magical Christmas", is now available adding a special magic to summer.  

 I completely believe it's not too soon to start checking off that card list.  What a feeling of accomplishment you'll have knowing your projects are started.

Spellbinders Large Die of the Month

Buttons Galore - Merry Mimosa DD100

"A Magical Christmas" is a classically wonderful collection filled with the greens and reds of the season, the Christmas plaids that are so popular, "candy cane" stripes and vintage ephemera images that are perfect for quick card making.  

This card has been embellished with a fussy cut Santa from on of the ephemera cards found on  A Magical Christmas Collection - 12 x 12 Double Sided Paper - Eight.  He holds a sign that says, "I believe in Children".  What a beautiful sentiment.

   I've tucked Santa next to Christmas presents I created from simple rectangles - nothing fancy but certainly fun to make because it gave me a chance to play with different patterns in Authentique's Paper - 6 x 6 Paper Pad  .  

The festive die cut letters and the decorative leaf branches are from Spellbinders Large Die of the Month.  They celebrate the sign that Santa holds.  

This alphabet set has big and thin letters which means you can fit a rather large word on a card quite easily - for more sentiment options all year round. 

A bit about the embellishments used on the card.  Buttons Galore has a new collection of shaker mixes/project accents available called Doo Dadz.  I describe them as project accents because they make the best shaker mixes,  they can be used to bedazzle your cards, mixed media, layouts and anything you can imagine.

Santa's North Pole Workshop Shadowbox - Spellbinders Large Die of the Month for November

Santa's Workshop Tabletop Shadowbox Vignette- Spellbinders Large Die of the Month

Welcome to the North Pole.  

Santa is working overtime with elves, the reindeer, and even Mrs. Claus getting ready for Christmas deliveries.  Brought to you by the amazing Large Die of the Month Club by Spellbinders, with special appearances by Santa's Reindeer -Special Add-On Set and accented using a variety of chipboard pieces from Creative Embellishments and 3D Buttons from Buttons Galore and More. 

This month the creativity and festivity is on overdrive due the adorable die set that is a "must have".  This November's Large Die of the Month includes the dies to make Santa and elves (and Mrs. Claus too). 

You can grab the coordinating reindeer "add on" to complete the set.   See how adorable the reindeer is? I added a button nose to transform the reindeer into Rudolph - the ever important main Rein"dude".

Mrs. Claus - Super Easy Adaptation

Santa is not complete without his lovely doting companion, Mrs. Claus.  I created Mrs Claus with a simple adaptation by using Santa's beard as her hair. I also gave her a lace apron and secured the lace to the back of the body. 

The Workshop

The Workshop was created using a variety of chipboard from Creative Embellishments starting with the Creative Embellishments - House Vignette - House Shadowbox.  From there, I covered with paper from Prima, and added the following chipboard accents:

You can see the roof Slate Shingles in the image below.  I painted them white and topped them with Unicorn Paste for a snowy glistening finish. 

This is the Unicorn Paste from Prima. It's my latest obsession for a perfect frosty finish to winter projects. It has a chunky texture because it contains mica flakes the help provide the iridescent sheen.

The Christmas tree in the background is Creative Embellishments - Mesh Tree , painted with green acrylic paint, and decorated with beads, sequins and buttons from Buttons Galore -Festive Traditions -Embellishment Bottles.

The chipboard North Pole Christmas Sign was wiped using a sponge and wash of white acrylic paint and water.  I didn't want to paint over the North Pole wording. 

Santa's chipboard sleigh was also painted with acrylic paint. 

 The Roof Ridge Top Chipboard was critical on this project to securing the chipboard sign and sleigh to the house. The chipboard is scored and acts like a hinge, thus helping to provide more support to the chipboard pieces when gluing to the house. 

The adorable finishing touches on Santa's North Pole Workshop are sweet 3D buttons from Buttons Galore and More.
