Today's card theme is kindness, encouragement and support.  While everyday is a great day to reach out with encouragement and positivity,  the Christmas season seems to hit many in a most difficult way.  

My card is simple yet has a powerful sentiment.  Graceful elegance is the whole concept of Spellbinders APG - Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month (designed by Becca Feeken).  The monthly die is thoughtfully designed with the idea of creating cards and projects with unique grace and charm - Becca Feeken's signature look. 

   This month, one of the elements from the APG die set is a beautiful rose panel, exquisitely detailed and eye catching. I pulled out the stamp set from the Spellbinders Card Club Kit Extras and created a wonderful encouraging sentiment.

My card has few embellishments to distract from the most important message but the sweet 3D buttons Hearts from Buttons Galore are perfect finishing touches.

Holiday in the Alps Christmas Card - Spellbinders APG for November

 Spellbinders APG of the Month

   This month, I paired  Spellbinders APG for November  with a beautiful holiday collection from Maja Design in Sweden.

As I mentioned above, the paper used on this card is from Maja Design's Holiday in the Alps 12x12 collection.  The collection is rich and full of fabulous holiday/winter images and patterned paper.   Absolutely perfect for Christmas, winter and well into the year.  

Maja Design also has coordinating solids that are matched to the collection - for those folks (myself included) who need perfectly matching solids for backgrounds, frames, diecuts.  The Monochrome- Shades of Alps takes the stress out of looking and hunting for coordinating cardstock. 

My finishing touch after assembling the card was a "slathering" of some cool glitter paste  - UNICORN PASTE (glitter paste)-
here and there to resemble ice chunks and make the card have a sparkle effect- not sparkle like the way glitter does, but more of an iridescent sheen.

 This is a fun and interesting product having the thickness of paste but with chunky mica-like glitter flakes.  Note - In my opinion this isn't the best to use on small stencils due to the chunky mica flakes.  

Here is one last look at the card with it's many intricate scroll work  details from the die.

Festive Christmas Ornament Shaker Card

I'm happy to share Maja Design's newest collections; Holiday in the Alps and Shades of the Alps (coordinating Monochrome papers) combined with some other great products from Creative Embellishments and Buttons Galore.   

Just in time for the coming holiday season!  This is a rich and wonderful collection with gorgeous Christmas and winter images and patterns.  And in keeping with Maja Design's unique style, this collection can be used through the year because the B side of the papers are classic patterns.  

Below is an image of the Holiday In the Alps and Monochrome -Shades of the Alps collections.  I used the "Santa Claus" . sheet from the collection - all shown below.  

I really hated cutting into such a gorgeous sheet of paper, but the images are absolutely spectacular and begged to be used on a card and shred with someone.  I had to fight off that desire to stash and hoard such a beautiful piece of paper however the resulting card makes me even happier than keeping that sheet of paper forever with no one ever seeing it on a project.  Paper is meant to be used after all. 

The Shaker and Pine Cone Branches

The chipboard Ornament Shaker Set and  chipboard Pine Cone Clusters are from Creative Embellishments.  They have been lightly inked with Walnut Stain colored Distress Ink and coated generously with a topping of Prima's Unicorn Paste by Finnabair.  This stuff is beyond cool and perfect for a frosty glittered effect caused by chunky mica flakes.

The Shaker Mix

Everyone knows you cannot have a successful shaker card without adding gorgeous shaker mix.  The magic to this card is the mix from Buttons Galore and More. 

This  particular shaker mix is part of the shaker cube collection called Happy Harvest .  The two images below show the gorgeous colors of the mix.
