Cheery Traditional Christmas Card - Spellbinders Large Die for December

Festive Christmas Card -Spellbinders  Large Die of the Month

Spellbinders Large Die of the Month for December is filled with options and possibilities -  die borders to be used year round.  I'm in Christmas card making mode so it's perfect for dramatic festive layers and bright cheery colors.

Below is an image of the Spellbinders Large Die set for December. The different shades of blue mean the dies are layered - so there are multiple options with the layering.

Bright Bold Embellishments with Sequins

The card has been accented with sequins from one of my favorite shaker mixes at Buttons Galore /28 Lilac Lane.  This mix is Dragon Fire and is part of their  Embellishment Bottles collections.  The bold sequins are great for berries on my card.

The dies were designed with layering in mind. I think the layering has a beautiful elegant effect.

Celebrate with Patriotic Cards

I'm here to celebrate Independence Day through the July Challenge at Creative Embellishments.
Creative Embellishments has some awesome patriotic chipboard pieces that helped make my cards especially festive.  The red card is adorned with a hot air balloon from the 4th of July Set 2  painted with acrylic paint and a beautiful Lace Border (#1) that looks like a bunting.

The July Challenge has a patriotic color theme and the twist is color blocking.  You can see all the details of the challenge right here.
Please join along in the fun and upload your project on the blog post.

The image below shows the wonderful patriotic chippies I used.

The blue card uses the Patriotic Star as the focal point.  I embossed the chipboard with white embossing powder and then added a piece of bold red cardstock to make the star pop and really show off the stars and strips of our beloved nation.

While really not a color blocked card, I think the different patterns have the effect of some blocking.  At least that's the story I'm going with!

This is the second card - with a bold pop of patriotic red.  I used acrylic paints for the hot air balloon. Once again, these are the chippies I used on this card.

The papers used for these cards comes from Maja Design - Life By the Sea collection.

Denim Papers and Fun Border Dies

It's Spellblogger time and the perfect opportunity to showcase some spectacular products that go perfectly together; beautiful new papers by Maja Design and fun dramatic new dies from Spellbinders.

I created my card with new scrumptious papers from Maja Design called, Denim & Friends and the coordinating set of solids called Maja Design - Monochrome Collection  Shades of Denim & Friends The dark blue denim has some amazing rich brown accents.

The gorgeous border work is from Spellbinders ...Spellbinders Shapabilities - Swirled Strip Etched Die .  Very cool - I'm in love.

I also used the Spellbinders Shapabilities - Heirloom Oval  die for the centerpiece medallion under the floral cluster.  That's a darling die as well.

The papers I used on this card are:
"Dark Blue " from the Monochrome Shades of Denim" 12x12 collection and  "Paisley" from "Denim & Friends".
