Liberty Sunday Drive Shaker Card - July 4th Patriotic Cards - Spellbinders

Patriotic Cards - Spellbinders Liberty Sunday Drive Convertible
I love patriotic cards.  My husband and many family members proudly served in the US armed forces  through the years.  So I was thrilled when Spellbinders introduced Sunday Drive All-Occasion Sentiments Clear Stamp Set from Liberty Collection - a new addition to the delightful Sunday Drive convertible die set.

Here is an image of the classic base "Sunday Drive convertible die" set.

Here are the images of the products used on today's cards. Spellbinders has had a lot of fun creating companion die sets ( add-on expansion sets) for the original base Sunday Drive convertible.

In addition to the patriotic Liberty Sunday Drive Collection, they have added a wonderful sentiments stamp set which I also used today.  The stamp set has wonderful meaningful sentiments for use year round.

The Liberty Collection has a lot more versatility than just for patriotic occasions.  Don't limit yourself.  Let your imagination roam freely! Give yourself the liberty and freedom to create all year round.

Additional Expansion Add-Ons for Sunday Drive
Can't get enough of the adorable Sunday Drive convertible die set?  Spellbinders has add-ons for:
and more.

The Shaker

Shaker cards are fun to make because of the interactive feature on the card.  You can be sure the person opening will be delightfully surprised to see a shaker card.  My two "go-to" products for shaker making are chipboard shakers from Creative Embellishments and mixes from Buttons Galore and More

Every fabulous shaker needs amazing shaker mix to make the shaker magic happen.  I love Button Galore's unique shaker mixes.  Today's shaker card uses the following:

Patriotic Cards - Stamps and Chipboard from Creative Embellishments

Happy Memorial Day America!  This is a day to celebrate our freedom, our patriotism and our wonderful country.

I am celebrating American pride with just a few of the many patriotic themed products from Creative Embellishments.  They have stamps, stencils, shaker sets, shaker pieces, home decor and chipboard accents to help celebrate your love of America.

Creative Embellishments - Eagle in Flag Rubber Stamp is the featured focal point of both cards today, accented with Creative Embellishments - Stars and Stripes Balloon chipboard andCreative Embellishments 4th of July ATC Coin set.

The chipboard pieces have all been heat embossed using Stampendous Aged Ivory embossing powder.  After embossing, I backed each of the chipboard pieces with cardstock to make them pop from the page.

The Creative Embellishments - Eagle in Flag Rubber Stamp was stamped and then colored using Distress Inks.   Nothing too fancy because I wanted the stamped image to be the star of the show.  I am also giving the cards to men so I needed to tone down the glitz and focus on the message/intent of the card.  My son really doesn't need a ribbon or florals on the card, no matter how much I want to add them..oh and I really wanted to keep on gussying.

Simple fact - cards don't always need a lot of embellishing.

Additional Information

The Eagle in Flag was stamped on to watercolor paper ( Neenah Classic Crest 80 LB SMOOTH SOLAR WHITE Paper Pack 25 Sheets) using the MISTI 12 x 12 - Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented stamping platform and colored using Distress Inks  (shown below) and  Blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios .

I like the Neenah watercolor paper because it has absolutely no texture allowing for a perfectly stamped image when used with the MISTI stamp platform for stamping.  While the MISTI is a bit pricey, nothing beats perfection when stamping.  I eliminated wasted paper because I can get a perfect image every time.  It makes the whole stamping experience more enjoyable.

Thanks for stopping here today.  Happy Crafting.
