Little Winter Birds
The colors of the wonderful Bo Bunny collection powder Mountain begged me to pull out an image I have scrapped before. Probably will again as the need arises. The image is from Graphic Fairy.
This was based on the sketch for the month of December, prepared by Charlotte Jenkins.
Here is Charlotte's original sketch.
Winter Girl Canvas
The image is from an old postcard from Magic Moonlight Free Images.
I used the sketch based on Nov Sketch #4 by Kylie Obst at Kaisercraft.
As I was shopping the after Halloween sales at my local craft store, there sitting in the 80% off clearance bin of leftover "nobody wants me" ugly stuff, was a burlap covered canvas wall hanging. This was really awful and top notch ugly. So I bought it. I felt I needed to make apologies at the checkout counter for even thinking of scooping up such ugly stuff.
None the less, home it came. I know I was just gonna paint over it anyway. I glopped on gesso and paste and paint and stuff. A real mess means fun times and this is how it all ended up.
This is the piece after I slopped product all over it.
Children in the Snow
The image is also from an old postcard from Magic Moonlight Free Images. This kit really spoke vintage to me. This is based on the November #3 Saturday sketch based on ‘M & J’ Layout By Melissa Kennedy at Kaisercraft.
I wanted to extend the feel of the photo onto the page so I rubbed a little gesso and Adirondack Paint in Sandal onto the patterend Kaisercraft paper.
The snowflakes and the flourishes under the photo are Kaisercraft stamps embossed with extra fine powder onto vellume, then cut out. Gives a nice frosty appearance. ( Thanks to Lisa Novogrodski who reminded me of thisfrosty cool technique last month).
Winter Balloon Ride
The image is also from an old postcard from Magic Moonlight Free Images. I know, I know more vintage. What's a girl to do? I kept this design very simple.
Thanks for looking at my art work.
