Maja Design - Vintage Autumn Love

I love the Maja Design Vintage Autumn Basic collection.  And I have created some wood blocks to show my love.  This is a wonderful warm collection that celebrates the vintage side of the Autumn season.

Each block is about 4 inches high and uniquely decorated.  The wooden blocks were painted white first as were the individual letters.  Then each letter was covered in Maja.

The "L" and "V" letters are covered in  Vintage Autumn Basics XXII  BAS645

The "L" block has a layer of lace on the block, and the gate was made using a gate stencil and molding paste on an acrylic transparency sheet.  By using an acrylic transparency sheet, I was able to cut around the molding paste and glue the gate form to my block -  having the effect of a free standing gate on my block.

What am I talking about?  Simple...the blue Maja paper in the background is just there to make my block stand out so you can see it better.  My blocks are not mounted on the blue background paper.  My gate is clear except for the parts that are stenciled in white molding paste.

I also used a piece of chipboard behind the flower and pearl floral berries.

Maybe you can see what I mean in this image.    You can faintly see the outline of the gate stencil on the acrylic.  A white stencil on a pure white background - phew!  Hard to photo for the internet.

The "O" is covered in VAB XVIII  BAS641.

This block has been stenciled first with molding paste before the letter was glued to it.  The top of the block also has a piece of chipboard, some flowers and pearl berries.

The "V" block has a layer of lace, a chipboard butterfly, and more stenciling over acrylic as a background.

The "E" has been covered in Vintage Autumn Basics XXI BAS644.  This block has been stenciled with molding paste and adorned with pearl berries, flowers, lace and some punching in Vintage Autumn Basics XII BAS635.

Now this is what the blocks look like without the blue background.  As you can tell, the acrylic stencil backgrounds do not show up, which is why I decided to photograph on the darker background.  But this image below shows how feminine and delicate the blocks are.   The acrylic stencils look even better in person.

Flying Unicorns have the Newest Webster's Pages Collection

The Flying Unicorns has Websters Pages -Postcards from Paris II

Postcrads from Paris was such a romantic popular hit that Websters Pages decided to release a sequel with Postcards from Paris II.  It is every bit as wonderful and elegant.  And it is available at the Flying Unicorns.

This is a card I made with the collection.  A thank you card for a friend who has been kind even in the midst of a difficult time.  I don't make cards all that often and she knows it, but the Websters Pages paper was screaming for me to have some card fun.

The oval frame is Cottage Cutz Oval Doily Frame.

Butterfly Canvas For the Flying Unicorns

The Flying Unicorns has Websters Pages -Postcards from Paris II

Postcrads from Paris was such a romantic popular hit that Websters Pages decided to release a sequel with Postcards from Paris II.  It is every bit as wonderful and elegant.  And it is available at the Flying Unicorns.

This is a 9in x 12in canvas board that has been decorated with some goodies; some Websters, some metal Adornments from the Flying Unicorns,  some Prima Marketing flowers and a dab here and there of one of my favorite products - Rub N Buff in Gold Leaf.  Love that stuff!

The butterflies were cut from Websters Pages Postcards From Paris II - My Heart Flutters US2139D then
topped with a Flying Unicorn Butterfly  Metal Adornment.

I put some Ranger Emboss It Ink on the metal then coated with Stampendous Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel, bent the wings a little and glued to the paper butterfly.

The oval frame is Cottage Cutz Oval Doily Frame.  I glued a pearl string to it.

Hurry and get your set of Websters Pages Postcards from Paris II before they are gone.  Click here to shop in the Unicorn Store.

Thanks for stopping.

Maja Design - Vintage Autumn Basics

This is a layout using the wonderful Vintage Autumn Basics.  My friend gave me a photo from her wedding and asked me to scrap it for her ( Photo - CR Photo, Christina and Ryan Palma).  I have been waiting for the perfect papers to slid past my desk.

When the Vintage Autumn Basics arrived,  I let her thumb through the collection and pick the papers she liked best.  Hard choice for sure.

The most wonderful part of this collection is that it can be used for any type of layout you want to create - so very versatile.

I found a jewelry piece that reminded me of the necklace she wore on her wedding day as the center of my cluster.

I also added some masking on this piece using a stencil and super heavy gesso.
The Maja Design papers have the most wonderful paper strips on the bottom of each page.  Have you ever noticed?  I used the strip of the bottom of Vintage Autumn Basics  XXIII BAS646.  It says "A time forever etched in our hearts and memories. "  Perfect for a wedding layout.
Thanks so very much for sharing your time with me.
