Prima's Victorian Christmas by Frank Garcia!

If you con't have this collection yet, go grab it up.  It's a Christmas collection and yet, once the holidays are over, you'll still be pulling this out and using the gorgeous non-holiday prints....stripes and polka dots?  Can't get more versatile than that!!

This is a card that I created for my parents.  I put a variety of flowers in this card you can can see a good array of the collection.  

This collection has such rich warmth - perfect for a vintage flair.  I actually used the 12x12 papers here.  I also have one of Prima's newly released dies as a background.  

Scroll down a bit further and I'll show you how I made the base of my card.  But first a few more close ups. 

Frank added some gorgeous edges to the flowers in this collection.  Some have "sugared" edges with beautiful chunky crystals on the edges,  Other are outlined in festive gold glitter.

So these are the layers I started for the base.  I used a kraft colored pre-folded card because the warm kraft is such a great complimenting neutral for this collection. 

I framed up the card like this:

Next I added a strip of texture - some neutral burlap. 

And this is how I used the Prima Doily Die cut. I used it as more of a circle border.  Added cardboard over it for some dimension.  

I'll follow up with a few more close ups of the floral cluster.  I love the large flower as a gorgeous anchor piece.  My fluster is then filled in  with  the smaller ones and snippets of the sprigs.

Small Art Big Passion...from the Flying Unicorn

This is a cool little mini-kit packed with all the fixin's that you would need for a full month of card making, tag making and all the other small projects that may tickle your fancy.  It's got the most current products that you still demand but just small sized papers.

Flying Unicorns - Letters to Santa

Hello.  I'm here today sharing my "off the page" project for December. Each month, the Flying Unicorn main kit of the month, Your Passion Your Art, comes with a fascinating item to alter.  The item included in December's kit was a metal mail box.  This can be fun to decorate for letters to Santa or save it and decorate perhaps for Valentine's day mail.  

Since cupid has already worked his magic on me, I decided to make a Christmas mailbox and start appealing to Santa for all the things I'd love to have under my tree. 

So the is an image of the mailbox before it was altered.  

I pulled out some gorgeous Lemoncraft papers - Christmas Wishes collection.   Flying Unicorns  has  the collection all set to pop in a box and ship your way.  

It is a magnificent collection with gorgeous colors and delicate patterns BUT you can also use it for "off season" pieces as well since the patterns are pretty classic...polka dots, ginghams. and music note patterns - those are always holiday neutral. 

I paired my Lemoncraft with some Prima Victorian Christmas flowers. pinecones and wispy cheesecloth tinted with Prima Color Blooms in Lime Wedge. 

I added some trims to hide the seams.  I also tucked some die cuts into the clusters.
