Valentines Day Cards - Authentique Cards

Do you send Valentine's cards?
I like sending Valentines cards to a bunch of folks; our children, my parents, relatives, and some good friends.  My husband says Valentine's cards should be between romantic relationships. Nonsense. I enjoy sharing the love.

These are the reasons I send cards:   I love making cards.  Everyone loves getting happy mail.  We aren't in a position to travel and visit everyone we love so we need to show our love in other ways.  That means I'm sending cards for Valentines Day.

Today I'm sharing Valentines cards created using three Authentique paper collection ( still available while supplies last.) The cards are a blend of blend Authentique's Flawless Collection and Authentique's Love Notes Collection  and  Authentique Paper - Romance Collection .

I can't believe it's time to start the Valentine's cards because I literally barely finished getting the Christmas cards out the door.

The first card is a blend of  the Love Notes Collection collection  and the Romance Collection.  The  beautiful fuchsia tones of Love Notes are so striking with the black and cream of the Romance papers used.

The dies and kitty stamps used today are from Spellbinders; the kitty stamps are from Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month for January 2021 and have been stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with Spellbinders/ Fun Stampers Journey -  Color Splash Watercolor Pencils.

The ornate heart die is from Spellbinders Large Die of the Month for January - so versatile to use in countless ways.  The scalloped border die is also Spellbinders - Curved Borders One die , which has been retired.

The darling kitties represent my sweet gray triplet kitties we call the Grays ( Eddie Gray, Frannie Gray and Macy Gray).  They are identical and use that feature to the best of their crazy kitty abilities - always together, virtually unidentifiable and full of adventure and curiosity x 3!

As I mentioned, the kitty stamp is from Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month for January and has been stamped onto watercolor paper with  Spellbinders/Fun Stampers Journey Dark Roast True Color Fusion Ink Pad ( with my MISTI stamping platform for accuracy).  The images have been colored using Spellbinder/ Fun Stampers Journey -  Color Splash Watercolor Pencils  which are bringing me such joy lately because they are easy to use for someone with no watercolor skills.

DIY Valentines cards for Petaloo

Valentine's Day Cards With DIY Tips
Sharing some Valentine's cards for February, the month of sweetness.  I have two cards adorned in pink - both gussied up with Petaloo's gorgeous pink flowers.   I think the happy cheery pink is a perfect balance to the dull chill of winter.
This is a sweet dainty card showing the flirty side of Petaloo.  Along with the pretty Petaloo crocheted trims, I used the following Petaloo flowers to embellish this card:
and the new Petaloo Ranunculus flowers in pink ( aren't they fabulous!).
The Ranuncula's will be shipping soon!
Creating this card was easier than you think.  Here are a few simple steps I took to make this card:

I stamped an image onto watercolor paper so that I could paint the dress.
I used watercolor paper because it is heavy and will absorb the water from the paints.  Regular cardstock or patterned paper is not as durable when water is applied and tends to get mushy and disintegrate.
I selected an ink that would not bleed or run when water is applied.

After my image was stamped, I simply blotted watercolors onto the paper.  Easy!  No real skill needed.

Here is another close up of the Petaloo Textured Elements -  Briar Rose Canvas in Red
and the new Petaloo Ranunculus flowers.  The new collection of flowers is absolutely amazing and better yet...shipping soon!

My second card is equally bright and cheery.  It's a shaker card.  Who wouldn't love to receive a shaker card in the mail?

I used the following Petaloo flowers to embellish this card:
The flowers make quite a statement on this card I think.

Cards for Valentine's Day - Petaloo

Hello.  I'm here with you to share some Valentine's or "appreciation cards" with you.   I'm calling them "appreciation cards" because I  have an outdated and old fashioned way of thinking about Valentine's Day - as a day set aside for your true love.  However I have many loves in my life  which obviously include my husband but extend to family and good friends.  Many of these loves in my life need to be appreciated and thanked for the amazing goodness they share with me.
Thus "appreciation cards" or my modern day Valentines.

Since my post is about love and appreciation, my cards are not complete until they have been adorned with another love of mine - Petaloo flowers.   I have two cards to share and both have some beautiful flowers on them from the Petaloo Darjeeling collection
I hope you enjoy them.

This first card is a simple design but the intention is quite clear.  It's obviously a card to show my love, but not overly gushy mushy love.  That I save for my husband, lucky man.

I used Graphic 45's, Off to the Races collection for my cards.  You may think that's such an interesting choice for Valentine's Day, but the patterns and colors are so fabulous together  and work absolutely perfectly with my Petaloo flower choices.

In addition to the Graphic 45 paper, matching Graphic 45 chipboard from "Off to the Races", I've used the following Petaloo flowers:

I've also added a wonderful delicate heart chipboard piece from 2Crafty - the gorgeous delicate Lace Heart frame.

This is the second card.  I'm sending it to my sister because she has the kindest heart and is such a helpful person who takes great care of my parents.  That certainly is a perfect reason to send a Valentine's appreciation card.

The Petaloo Darleeling Dahlias Red looks wonderful paired with the Graphic 45 paper collection, "Off to the Races".  I have accented the red Petaloo Dahlia with some white pearl berries from Petaloo Spring Berry Cluster.  I also used the sweet hemp bow that comes with the Berry Cluster.  It's a perfect little topper.

Here's an angled look at the card to show the dimension.   This card also has a chipboard piece from 2Crafty - the Elegant Heart.

You can find more Petaloo products listed here, and we invite you to join and LIKE us on Facebook right here.    You can find more Graphic 45 products right here.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget all the folks you love and appreciate this Valentine's Day.  They all deserve cards adorned with Petaloo!
Don't forget the new Petaloo collections will soon be available.   You can see  Magnolia sneaks here, Garden Roses here,  and adorable Glittered Bugs ( Butterflies and Dragonflies) right here
