Silhouettes have long been enchanting and classically popular. Spellbinders silhouette dies designed by Sharyn Sowell have taken the traditional idea and transformed it into so much more with sweet woodland forrest animals and winter scenes.

There's a feeling of satisfaction you get when you can combine your crafting supplies into one project.  So I can say with confidence that this card has made me very happy by enabling me to combine Spellbinders Small Die of the Month, with Spellbinders new holiday release by Sharyn Sowell, and the new Maja Design - Holiday in the Alps paper collection.  
Many great products on one card.

The snowflakes are from Spellbinders Small Die of the Month for November.  I inked the snowflakes with Distress Ink in Gathered Twigs and Aged Mahogany for a vintage look.

I adore the silhouette designs by Sharyn Sowell, but I modified mine slightly by giving the little girl a little more definition by cutting the Maja Design papers.

Let's All Party - Spellbinders "Happy" Collection by Sharyn Sowell

Today I am celebrating Spellbinders new "Happy" collection  designed by Sharyn Sowell.  

Not only is the collection happy, it's filled with darling imagery, whimsy and heart warming silhouette scenes.  I selected the irresistible die, "Let's All Party", with a variety of "party animals" celebrating as animals do...with cake in the forest, of course.

The silhouette idea has been modified a bit to be a shadowed silhouette by adding a layer of color in front of the black die cuts.  Each colored silhouette piece needs to be backed by two pieces of black for the shadow effect.  

Add a birthday sentiment and turn the celebration into a wild birthday party (in the forest with bears, deer and bunnies). 

Die D-Lites Sentiments One Etched Dies

My paper choice for this birthday bash is Graphic 45 BLOOM 8 x 8 Paper Pad .  Because the paper pack has the outdoor theme but with bold colors. The bold "solid" B sides of the paper made great contrasting silhouettes against black shadows.

Great Big Wonderful World Dies - By Spellbinders and Sharyn Sowell

It's a Great Big Wonderful World for sure.  And today is made even more wonderful as Spellbinders celebrates a new collection of dies by Sharyn Sowell called Great Big Wonderful World. 

This die set was created thoughtfully to be used all through the year.  I chose to add a Christmas holiday theme to my card because the "Love and Joy" words included in the set are so appropriate for a Christmas card.  Tis the season, right?

I created two cards that use the following dies:

This is the first card.  I thought the Mistletoe Gatefold die made a beautiful festive flap fold type card.  I layered a green die cut under the gold for shadowing to make the Mistletoe Gatefold die pop.  

When the card is opened, a  warm surprise awaits.

This is the inside of the card featuring Spellbinders Hanging Stocking Die from A Sweet Christmas Collection by Sharyn Sowell.  I have once again layered the dies for a bolder effect.  

This is the second card.  I decided to use the Spellbinders Mistletoe Gatefold from A Sweet Christmas Collection by Sharyn Sowell as a border on this card.  I cut the die from cream colored cardstock and enhanced with inks and mist.
