Pillow Boxes for the Holidays - Spellbinders Steel Rule Die

Pillow Treat Boxes for the Holidays - Spellbinders Steel Rule Dies
Pillow Boxes, treat boxes, gift boxes...they have many names but they are fun and can be used by anyone, for any occasion, year round.  My boxes happen to be holiday/Christmas themed.

I'm featuring Spellbinders Contour Pillow Box Steel Rule Die  today to remind folks that the gift card season is upon us.  This die allows you to give a gift card and so much more - a piece of your creative heart.
It also enables you to give something a little more substantial than just an envelope with gift card, CASH (yeah cash fits great into these boxes).
Contour Pillow Box Steel Rule Die
The wonderful thing about the Pillow Box Die is that they are super quick to make,, can have absolutely any theme, be simple, detailed, masculine, child themed...you get the point.  Anything goes.  And because they are steel rule, they can cut multiple layers at one time.

Santa's Pillow Box was quick - by adding a brushed brass looking buckle that I had sitting literally for years in my scrap junk drawer.  Oh the treasure one will find.

I added a little extra flair to my boxes by wrapping them with ripped muslin. I like the frayed edges when I ripped the muslin for the first box, so I kept on ripping.  Just kept right on going...haaaa.

I topped the ripped muslin strip with holiday ribbon and a few baubles, floral berries, pine cones, and some 3D buttons from  Buttons Galore and More  -3D buttons - Christmas Past.

Spellbinders Maker's Mart Die of the Month

Spellbinders  - Makers Mart Die of the Month Club
Did you know Spellbinders has a cool new monthly die kit club?  The die kit is new and fresh each month - I just happen to be showing the kit from April 2016. It's available at Maker's Mart - from Spellbinders.  (You can see the post at Spellbinders right here.  )

I'm the Star Shopper for Spellbinders and Maker's Mart, which means I get to have a whole lot of fun with these cool kits.

This die set has endless possibilities...teacher appreciation gifts, custom ornaments, shower treats, thank you gestures, and how about using as name cards for a table setting at your next gathering?

This is what the dies set looks like.  As you can see there are so many cool little embellishments that come with the box shape.

You can keep as a box or transform into something totally and uniquely different...
I have a quick video to show you how I made the boxes and my special surprise....the floral pick.  I'll show you how I made these sweet little sunflowers too!

This is a cute Valentine box, or perfect for a little "thank you" gesture.
This is my sunflower box that I turned into a House Warming gift for my friend at work.  I'll show you how to make the sunflowers and how to transform this into a floral pick.

This is a custom tree ornament.

And a few other ideas....

And this "Bootiful"  little treat box made using Julie Nutting and PhotoPlay paper and accents from the Bootiful collection.

How adorable would this look on a table for a baby shower?  This was made using Maja Design papers from the Summertime collection.

Finally, some bright cheery pieces using the Makers Mart Kit - Tote Shaped Treat Box- simple but fun.

It's available at Maker's Mart - from Spellbinders.  Don't miss out!  This little treat box set is still available - but not for long.
You can also look for other dies from Spellbinders right here.

DIY Halloween Treat Boxes with Video

Treat boxes are perfect for so many occasions. But custom treat box sizes are so hard to find UNTIL NOW!
Learn how to create treat boxes in a variety of sizes for just about any occasion; showers, classroom parties, church activities, birthday and anniversaries, kid parties favors and beyond.
Here's a fun idea for a child's party - make a bunch of undecorated boxes and place on a table for each child to decorate. Set out a variety of bowls filled with embellishments and let the kids make their own custom treat box, for taking home goodies. Have a sharpie or pen on hand for adding names to each box to avoid confusion.
I am up on the Blitsy Blog with a quick video on how I made this!
Check it out....Blitsy - right here
