I'm here today to show off the Small Art Big Passion  (  also known as SABP) mini-kit.  It's my favorite kit bundle each month because it is packed with coordinated goodies that provides card making fun  for the month.  It's all about the love of making cards, tags atc's and anything in between. Chock full of bling, flowers, paper, embellishments and pretty things in between!

The delicate curved edges on my card were created using the Spellbinders Card Creator dies, and the wonderful decorative oval was made using the Spellbinder Floral Oval die.

Wreath Card - Using Flying Unicorns Small Art Big Passion Card Kit

I'm here today to show off the Small Art Big Passion  (  also known as SABP) mini-kit.  It's my favorite kit bundle each month because it is packed with coordinated goodies that provides card making fun  for the month.  It's all about the love of making cards, tags atc's and anything in between. Chock full of bling, flowers, paper, embellishments and pretty things in between! 

This month's paper collection included in the Small Art Big Passion is from 13Arts, Secret Letters.  Here is a close up of the floral cluster on the card I made.  The embellishments all came from elements in the SABP mini-kit.  I just made them into a sort of wreath design with Prima's resin mask as the focal piece. 

The background of the card was created by using Prima's Doily Die  called Rose wall .  It's so delicate looking.  Then to embellish the wreath, I pulled out the metal pieces that came in the SABP kit and rubbed 13Arts Ayeeda Ink in Silver  into the metal pieces to give them a white wash look. The metal used on this card included: 

Flying Unicorns Metal Adornments - Love word , Prima's Metal Embellishments that look like metal brads (from  SABP), and the cool metal star.  

To finish up my frosty look, I pulled the top flowers from Petaloo's pink tea stained flowers - (from  SABP).  I wanted the flowers to be smaller so I pulled them apart and saved the bottom layers for some other purpose. 

Then I misted them with Prima Color Bloom Mist - Frost to make them frosty white washed.

I'm here today to show off the Small Art Big Passion  (  also known as SABP) mini-kit.  It's my favorite kit bundle each month because it is packed with coordinated goodies that provides card making fun  for the month.  It's all about the love of making cards, tags atc's and anything in between. Here's how I made this card:

Card Base: The card base was made using the 13Arts Secret Letters 6x6 pad.  I have the most wonderful edge dies from Spellbinders.  They are Spellbinders Card Creator collection.  Gorgeous.  

The Embellishments Used:  Below is a photo of the main embellishments used .  These all came from the SABP kit for January.  They include; Prima Metal Embellishments,  Prima Say It In Crystals ( SIIC) Black Postage 560416, and the Petaloo Flowers - Darjeeling Teastained Pink. 

Customizing the Embellishments: I customized a lot of the embellishments on this card.  It's a great way to make them work for you .  First, I took one of the Prima  black postage crystals  (  also known as SIIC)  stickers and cut it in half. 

This is how I cut it.  

Customizing the Flowers: The flowers in the Small Art Big Passion (SABP) were Petaloo Flowers - Darjeeling Teastained Pink .   I decided to customize the flowers since pink wasn't quite what I was looking for as an  accent  color on this card.  A  quick way to customize flowers is to mist them.   I used  Prima Color Bloom Mists in Empress Gold    and Berry Wine mist.  You can find a variety of  Prima Color Blooms right here. 

My second Petaloo flower was misted with Empress Gold and Mustard Yellow. 

Totally different look.    

I  popped off the top few layers of the flower to make it smaller.  I love the photo below because it shows a dramatic comparison between the flower before and after misting.  

  I cut the top layers in half and tucked it into my cluster.  I really didn't want a second big flower on my card so cutting it was the best way to minimize it.  

Additional accents on the card include some butterflies cut from the 13Arts papers, some pine punches as cluster filler, floral berries from my stash and the Prima Metal Embellishments from the SABP kit.  

Done!  Looks elaborate but once you see the steps broken down, it all seems much easier.

Flower Card Using Die cut Layers

Here is a card I made with lots of die cut layers.  I used 7Dots papers that came in the Oct Flying Unicorn kit.  This kit really has an Autumn look and feel as did the 7Dots collection "Lost and Found". 

 I decided to take a break from Autumn and celebrate Summer one last time.  So how do you do that with an Autumn based kit and all earthy colors and embellishments in the kit? Simply choose an accent color that takes you in a different direction.  The pink cardstock is totally unexpected but makes the 7Dots papers instantly look like they were made to be used for summer projects by bringing out the fresh green grass color. 

The main embellishments on the card are a resin heart from Bo Bunny and chipboard from 2Crafty.  
The 2Crafty piece is "Circle Word Set 1" - perfect for cards.   Flying Unicorn has an amazing assortment of 2Crafty chipboard available to purchase.  You can find the selection here.

Flying Unicorns Small Art Big Passion for July

Flying Unicorns has this cool little kit we lovingly call "Small Art Big Passion".  It's a strange name indeed because it's not really small - it is still robust and packed with current trendy scrap products, fun coordinating embellishments, flowers, papers, and usually a surprise or two tossed in.  The primary purpose of this smaller kit was to appeal to the large market of card and tag makers. This is also perfect for folks trying to balance crafting/scraping with lifestyle, free time, and budget.  That's probably most of us, right?

This is a card I made with the July Small Art Big Passion Kit. Lots of inking to make this take on a vintage tone.  I tend to use pre-folded cards because I am not great at perfect folds when I make my own card bases.   

I actually embellished with flowers I made using a die from a previous kit.

I know I have said this before...but I love the Small Art Big Passion mini kit that is available each month.  I do think it is my favorite part of all the Kits offered.  You can make a months worth of cards, tags, small gifts and something for yourself. 

The Small Art Big Passion never fails to have amazing embellishments and papers and fascinating items in the package. The Petaloo Flowers this month are soft and wispy feeling. 

This month a tag  and envelope came in the kit.  I decided to make a quick tag set - or maybe a gift card set.   Super easy and done in about 10 min.   I have my steps below. 

Turned the tag into a little note card..a Petaloo flower, some punched leaves, twine and BoBunny journal cards.  Done!

I took one of the BoBunny journal cards and bent it to make a flap.  I used the flap and the folk on my tag.
