Birthday Cards  - Adapted from Spellbinders Slimline Collection 

When I am shopping for new products, versatility is king.  Products need to have multiple purpose and functionality.  I also love products that can be used through the year and with a bit of creativity can be used in multiple ways.  

Slimline cards are trendy lately.  These are long cards measuring  3.5" by 8.5", which conveniently fit into a standard business sized envelope. 

  Today I am featuring Spellbinders Flowering Slimline Etched Dies from the Slimline Collection however I am not creating a slimline card.  I'm showing alternative ways to use the die set from Spellbinders new collection of Slimline dies.  The sentiment on the card is also part of the collection;  Spellbinders Essential Sentiments Clear Stamp from the Slimline Collection

Additional Information

The sentiment stamp was stamped with Fun Stampers Journey  - Black Licorice True Color Fusion Ink Pad.  This black is robust, dries quickly and does not bleed  leading to a crisp clear stamped image.

Happy Winter Snowman Card - Spellbinders Small Die of the Month

 

Frankie the Snowman has a giant smile on his face as he enjoys a trip down the ski slopes.  You will smile too when you see him.  Spellbinders Small Die of the Month for November is filled with nothing but jolly snowman smiles.   

The Small Die of the Month gives you two options of snowmen to create along with accessories.  

Frankie the snowman is skilling down a mountain made from Doodlebug Design - Winter Wonderland Collection - 6 x 6 Paper Pad.   This is a great collection full of fun images and soft winter colors.  If I have to live with winter, then I want to play with soft winter colored papers and smiling snowmen.

Welcome to my blog today.  I'd like to share some fun shakers inspired by the July Monthly Challenge at Creative Embellishments. 

  

The twist is a birthday theme, so that's super easy with the fabulous selection of shaker designs at CE.  If you haven't seen the shaker selection, you'll be amazed at the clever and adorable designs.

The chipboard was left basically natural and untreated on both shakers - except I did paint the clouds with white acrylic paint to make them stand out. Instead of treating the chipboard, I opted to back the pieces with colored or patterned paper. 

My shaker ice cream cone comes is strawberry, chocolate and vanilla.  What will your flavors be?       

The shaker mix inside the cone is a blend of two unique shaker mixes from Buttons Galore, Bridal Sequin Mix  in cello bag  and Buttons Galore Sprinkletz - Cupcake blend. The Sprinkletz look just like their name - candy sprinkles on a cupcake or cone - deliciously adorable. 

Here is the second joyful happy card for the day.  The rainbow shaker is fun and ageless.  Who doesn't love the sight of a rainbow?  Every time a rainbow appears in the sky, it's always surprising and delightful.  

As you can see, I also backed the rainbow shaker with colored paper to create the gorgeous ROYGBIV  ( red , orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) colors of my rainbow. 

I have used some bright cheery products from Buttons Galore for this card as well.   Let's talk about that adorable smiling  Sun shaped 3D button.

One last topic to discus;  paper choices.  These cards were created using Doodlebug Design - Hey Cupcake Collection.
