Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Because Breast Cancer is hideous and effects the entire family....

....here are my little Julie Nutting kids.  They are giving support to their grandma who is a survivor. It says, "We Support Our Grandma With Love".  Breast Cancer effects everyone in the family.  Please note this is not for my mother or my grandmother - thank goodness.

This is a shaker card 

• Because cancer needs to shaken up and tossed on it's butt end to the curb. 
• Because everyone in the family is shaken.
• Because we need to shake up reality and realize it's still claiming too many lives
• Because research needs a good shake
• Because I want to shake the hands of all those brave survivors and hug those going through the battle.

The little boy stamp is Toby.  The little girl stamp is called Little Girl.  hahahah she has no name.  I think Julie needs to fix that!  A sweet little angel with no name seems so wrong. 

I also used the wonderful Prima Garden Fable paper collection for my card and dolls.

My Card Secrets

Inside my heart shaker card, I've added sequins and some glass beads.  I also used "fun foam"  as the layer to create my shaker card. What I realized??? Fun foam is not just for kids. 

I also stamp several layers for the dress and stagger them using more fun foam for movement and volume. 

I also added some Stickles glitter glue to the dolls as accents to provide more dimension. 

I colored her sweet hair by inking it first then drawing tiny circles with a fine tip art pen for her hair.

Flying Unicorns Media Add-On mixed with Julie Nutting

When I think mixed media and Mixed Art, I think a little differently than most.  I don't think gels and pastes and gesso. Noooooooo way!  I think of mixing my two favorite things - Flying Unicorns and Julie Nutting Doll Stamps.  Now THAT's Jennifer style Mixed Media.  Oh yeah baby - now we're talkin' spooky great fun.

I started with the black canvas and cracked open the Prima -Julie Nutting stamp packages.  I started with Valentina ( found here ) my base.  Then I added her hat that  I grabbed from Prima Julie Nutting Hats #1 910822 and the Halloween sentiment that came from Julie Nutting's Witchy Poo Stamp found here.  Mixing and matching - yep THAT'S MIXED MEDIA. 

The Media kit comes with a cool stencil that I used fro my background textures.   The resin hearts from the banner also are part of the media kit.

The sweet witchy Valentina doll is dressed in an assortment of papers from G45 as listed in my supplies below.

I used a few chipboard pieces from 2Crafty to help accent my canvas.  I added the "Iron Fence" which I left natural and neked and I added the "Grass Clumps".  These were inked green and dotted with Prima Art Extravagance glitter from the Mardi Gras set (those are fun colors just like the name suggests).
