Prima Anna Marie Collection - Party Swag

Prima Party Swag - using Anna Marie Collection
Super fun, bright, girly and happy.  That's how I feel when I see these papers. The bold colors and florals were made to celebrate all that is pretty.

I made a party swag using all sorts of items from the collection from papers to wood icons, tags and tickets, sugar dots and flowers.

I cut the dresses from the paper - how darling are they!!!

FabScraps Elegant Chic - Wedding Card

FabScraps Elegant Chic is NOW Available

The FabScraps team just announced that this much-awaited collection has finally reached the warehouse.  Yeah for that joyful news because this is a peaceful beautiful collection.   It has a beautiful soft pink and gray combination with an elegant appeal - thus the fitting name, "Elegant Chic"".

I was heading to a wedding so I thought the new collection would be a perfect fit.

The chipboard heart is such a statement piece.  Its FabScraps chipboard  DC71003 and it is so beautiful.  I simply coated it with aged antique embossing powder.

I tucked in Prima flowers here and there as my accent pieces.
You will find a complete detailed set of instructions at the end of this post.

FabScraps Welcome Plaque - featuring Elegant Chic Collection

FabScraps Elegant Chic is NOW Available

The FabScraps team just announced that this much-awaited collection has finally reached the warehouse.  Yeah for that joyful news because this is a peaceful beautiful collection.   It has a beautiful soft pink and gray combination with an elegant appeal - thus the fitting name, "Elegant Chic"".

As I shopped in my basement for something to alter , I found a small plaque left over from some holiday.  What does that tell you about my basement? That's correct - looks like a clearance section at a craft store, with much too much bargain junk.  I tend to go to the stores when I see a 70%-80% off announcement.    And if the magic number is ever 90%, well, my cart's going to get filled up.

I also wish I had snapped a "before" photo for you.  Yikes - you'd know why it was on clearance.

This plaque is only 7.5in x7.5in and is wooden.  It's small enough to comfortably alter without it being an overwhelming project.   I decided to make the charming chipboard gate the focal point because it reminds me of a delightful old gate in an English Garden.

FabScraps has a unique coordinating die cut for this gate DC71010.  The die cuts  (MC71001A) come in a package with various choices so you can pick the look you would like to achieve.  These die cut chipboard combos are innovative and exclusive to FabScraps.

The  pink outside edge and the "welcome" word was cut from FabScraps Elegant Chic Collection –Flying Bird C71 006.   I have to thank fellow Design Team member Maggi Harding for the cut word.  I was lucky to be scrapping at her house on a girls weekend and she offered to cut it for me.   Thanks Maggi!  Her lovely work with FabScraps can be found here

This angled photo shows that I used some dimensional foam tape to bump out the door section to the gate.    I wanted to give the door some dimension instead of having it be flat on my project.  I think it adds some charm to the piece.

You can see the entire set of detailed instructions for this project at the bottom of this post.

Flying Unicorns Teams up With Once Upon A Sketch for October

Flying Unicorns is Teaming with Once Upon A Sketch for Oct

Two great teams  joining together this month - Flying Unicorns  and Once Upon a Sketch for a month of fun.

Once upon a Sketch is a monthly sketch challenge with an added twist of including journaling into the project.  The journaling has a monthly theme and can be hidden on the back, tucked behind a tag or in an envelope - such like that.  It is meant to have a reflective element.

The sketches are created by Nadia Cannizzo and always amazing and inspire me.
http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com/

Journaling Theme: "The women/girls etc in our lives..."

You are free to interpret our theme ANY WAY you like. It is for your inspiration and this theme word DOES NOT need to be part of your title or journaling. But please make sure your layout is based on the sketch below and includes journaling (hidden journaling is fine). Acceptable journaling is MORE than just a sentence, or generic writing such as date/place etc. It needs to be present and at least 3 lines long. Remember, hidden journaling (under a photo/tag or behind your page) is perfectly fine but please DO let us know in your post where your journaling is!
Here is the link to join  the challenge.

Now to introduce you to the girl in my life - though many of you already know my Escape Kitty.  I adore pets.  I believe they make my house more of a home.  I have cats that are vocal and have different personalities - just as I am sure your pets have interesting personalities.  They know exactly what they want and have no bones about asking - excuse the pun.

Kitty is very important in our family and she indeed, makes me smile.

I used the Flying Unicorn Oct kit to complete this sketch which include papers from Magnolia Paper Collection Sea Breeze , Magnolia Once Upon a Time.   I embellished with Prima flowers and wood tiles from DoCraft and corrugated words from Jillybean Soup.   The complete list of supplies is at the end of this post.

The cool corrugated words were misted with Prima Color Blooms in Cotton Candy and Tea Stain.  I love the texture with Miss Kitty.  It reminds me of her fur.  I also have first hand knowledge that Kitty absolutely adores cardboard boxes.

Flying Unicorns has Pre-order options now for their monthly kits because they sell out super fast.  Never miss a kit. Details found here.

I hope you have some time to join the challenge.
