13Arts Paper Collection -Timeless

There are prizes to be won EVERY DAY of this fun filled pairing.  Scroll down and see how.

This is a photo of my husband enjoying a glass of wine.  When I received the 13Arts Timeless collection,  I had this photo in front of me and was excited that the colors of the paper really blended well with the background scenery of the photo.   I also loved the names of the papers - perfect for my husband.

I used my husbands guitar strings and added them to the page. My husband's true love is his guitar and he always save the strings for me to use.  He winds them up in this tight circle and that is the way I place them on the page.

Tip 1.  Many folks have asked about using wire or guitar strings as well- lots of musicians out there.  I backed my photo with a think piece of cardboard.   You can see in the photos above that the image of my husband is raised.  I secured my guitar strings to the back of the cardboard first - glue and then tape.  This way they are very secure on my page and will not rip the page or fall off and they also will not eventually spring open.

Tip 2.  My second tip is for accentuating your stenciling.  I have used 13Arts Ayeeda Medium Acrylic Molding Paste -  super fabulous thick and white. After the paste dries, I decided to make it pop a little so I took my ballpoint pen with black ink and outlined around some of the masking. A simple pen - nothing artsy and nothing fancy.

Next - I sprayed some 13Arts Ayeeda Mist - Chalk Yellow Amber on my craft mat and added a touch of water to it.  Dipped my paint brush in and painted the edge of a few of the larger masked circles.

The 13Arts Mist is the same mist I used on the outer edges of the page so I am carrying it through my page a little more and create continuity.

My misty ink circles were done by dipping the  bottom of the 13Arts Ayeeda Molding paste jar in the watered down water mixture.

This second piece is my son.  The Timeless collection had perfect colors to match my photo.

OK who wants to win a gorgeous prize pack!!  Rules are simple:  All you have to do is head on over to the 13 ARTs Facebook page, like them and share the “project of the day”. They will choose a winner the next day! You can do this between 7 am est and 9 pm est for each of the 13 days. Days will alter between the Flying Unicorn and 13 ARTs Facebook pages, so keep visiting both of them to increase  your chances of winning!

Thanks for playing along.

Prima Julie Nutting Doll Stamps and Chipboard Book - Your Many Wonderful Moods

Prima has released some new doll stamps by Julie Nutting and a Chipboard Book
( you can see the entire post at Prima here)

Prima and Julie Nutting have designed a wonderful chipboard mini album as a place to assemble your favorite doll stamps combined with tags, photos, journal entries and other little goodies.  The chipboard book has a diecut and an embossed doll on the front - a great special touch.

I decided to use the variety of doll stamps to show that a woman has equally as many wonderful sides and moods - a fun side, flirty, romantic, an adventurous side and that of a best friend - all rolled into one amazing woman -tucked into each of us.  I used Prima's "Something Blue " collection to help me illustrate this.

Here is the chipboard book with a very beautiful die cut doll on the cover.

These are all the pages

So this is the front cover adorned with Prima flowers and new trim.  I used Mindy's skirt on the cover.  Click here to see the Mindy doll stamp.
This is Katie and you can find her in my product list. She seems to be the carefree fun and flirty side of "you". Kickin back with a summer dress and casual wedges.
OK have to admit I do not know her name.  So let's just go with mysterious, romantic, exotic diva.  I know there's a little of her inside us all.

This is Becky and she is fun lovin' and a little rustic.

This is the "Little Girl " stamp and her best friend, Betty.
This page is also embellished with Prima's new wire thread and new trims.

This page features  Priscilla -  and she feels fabulous in her ruffles and boots.

This is the back cover reminding you how wonderful you really are.

Prima Julie Nutting Mermaid Stamp , Wire Thread, Free Spirit Paper Collection

Prima Marketing and Julie Nutting
(you can see the original Prima post here)

I think the mermaid stamp by Julie Nutting is fun and meant to be tossed in a sea of creativity.  Her name is Sea Sallie.
This is a canvas that I wanted to keep bright, cheery and warm.  Mermaids are also supposed to be happy - no one has even seen an unhappy mermaid.  The collection I used was the Free Spirit also a bright fun collection.  I accented her with Prima's new wire threads.

Her hair and outfit were created using the Free Spirit 6x6 paper pad.  The sea was created with a lot of layers of  cardboard embossed with Stampendous Aged White embossing powder and Chunky White powder. I also added stripes of the Free Spirit collection for the water.

Here is a close up of the wire thread sea weed and waves  I created.
Thanks for stopping here.  You can see the products and the codes used below - these help in your internet search for product.

Julie Nutting Doll Stamps - Colors of the Seasons

 Prima/ Julie Nutting's Doll Stamps
Today I am  sharing some projects made with Prima Marketing and Julie Nutting's new stamps and stamp kits perfect for card making.  You can find the original post on the Prima blog here

The Doll Stamps are a delight to use and the possibilities are endless. They speak to my childhood love for paper dolls as well as my current love affair with patterned paper and Prima goodies.  So I created two tags and a card.  I like to think I captured most of the colors of the seasons below with my pieces though I was not trying.

I'll start off with my ode to winter because in New York where I live, we are having our share of cold, blustery, snowy days.  I bet many of you are also having your fill of winter.  I am going to embrace Winter just as Julie Nutting has with her adorable Warm Wishes Cling Stamp Set.

My little snow darlin' is dressed in winter white, with a blush pink skirt and matching hat.  She has snowy white leggings on also.  She's well prepared to stay warm.

I stenciled the background with Finnabair's Elementals Stencil to look like snowballs.

Other Supplies:

fibers and yarn
cardboard

Spring and Summer follow the thaw and Julie Nutting's "Mindy" stamp is our Spring and Summer gal with a warmer, softer, lazy, hazy palette.   I used the Princess Collection on this tag and tucked a  wooden ATC card in also.

edge punch
molding paste

brown ink

Next up is my celebration of Autumn with help of Julie Nutting's Megan Stamp and the Stationer's Collection.  I stamped the doll onto  a sheet of Stationer's  Desk -Captured Drama paper.
I created some motion and volume to Megan's dress using layers of cardboard and patterned paper
(let's pretend that an autumn breeze is tossing her skirt about).

Bonus Tip!

I glued twine to the back of the tag.  This looks wonderful from the front, but leaves the back unattractive and messy. If you hate the back of your tags because they are a crazy mess ( like mine), then just glue a piece of folded cardstock to the back and cover up all those unattractive backsides - turning your tag into a tag/card allowing for room to write your sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by today.
