Christmas Canvas -ZVA Creative

This is a canvas I created using an old Christmas tree ornament, my ZVA Creative crystal flourishes in Smoke color. bling and the Christmas collection from Maja Designs.  This did not start out as a canvas but I knew I wanted to use the ornament as my inspiration.  It's super heavy so the canvas was the only choice I had.

I am still feeling the spirit of the Christmas season so I am going to keep right on creating seasonal projects till I have had enough.  Sort of like eating holiday fudge or holiday cookies.  I'll keep right on eating them and eating them till I get a belly ache.  I may even do the scrapping and the cookie eating at the same time - but definitely not fudge and scrapping.  Nothing good can come of that combo.

Here are the ZVA Creative products I used:
CRW-05CB-103 Flourishes Smoke Crystal
CRS-05CB-113 Flourishes Smoke Crystal

The paper collection I used is Maja Designs - It's Christmas Time Collection.  The smoke colored crystals pewter colored ornament match so perfectly with the colors of the Maja Design papers.  The following papers were used:
Die Cut Sheet JUL-580
Sparkle JUL-577
Joyful JUL-565

I also used some Donna Salazar  products for accenting.  The outside edges were inked with Donna Salazar Midx Media Inx, Mossy and School House.  The Donna Salazar stamp used was Swirly Doos DS2025 with Black Mixd Media Inx.   This will be used for the Donna Salazar Girly Grunge December challenge to create something using ribbon.  I have a little brown checked gingham ribbon on the tree bottom and at the top of the canvas.
Thanks for looking at my page.

Help Escape Kitty out and maybe you can win $100

Well first she has to win some prize money.  That's where you come in.  She needs YOU to help her win.

Kitty has entered a story contest at photobucket. She wants to win and I want her to win as well.  It's time she earns her own money and stops using my credit card to fund her wacky craziness.
If she wins the grand prize, she wants to share with you.  Please note, I said GRAND PRIZE....just to be clear.

She'll have someone randomly draw 3 names from those that have left comments in one or more of the photos and have followed the directions.   This is open to anyone: family, scrappers, non scrappers, your pup, your best friend, your best friends pup.  You get the picture!  This is not a scrapper event - this is for everyone.  Each person will need to create a photobucket acct.

If Kitty wins the GRAND Prize.....
1st Prize winner....$100 gift card (on-line store of your choice or paypal acct )

2nd Prize Winner...$25 gift card (on-line store of your choice or paypal acct )

3rd prize Winner....$25 gift card(on-line store of your choice or paypal acct )

 Here are her stories:

*******************************************************************

How to win?  What do YOU have to do to have a chance at winning?
First let me state that you do not need a Facebook acct to play!  This has nothing to do with Facebook.   So many people have emailed me back to say they cannot play along because they do not have a Facebook acct.  No problem!  Don't need one.

You do, however need a photobucket acct.

The Rules
1. You need to have a photobucket acct - Don't have one?  Then it's time to get one.  VERY easy to start and free.  Even though it says log in through Facebook, you cannot unless you have a photobucket acct first.  You do NOT need to log in through Facebook - I never do.    But you must set up a photobucket acct.

2. Click on the link and "LIKE" her. This is a MUST.  The "LIKE" button is located at the top of the page to the right hand side.

3. Make a comment in a photo by clicking on any photo you'll see my little face under each photo...look to the right of my little face.  You'll see a comment symbol.  Open that up and type a few kind words for Kitty.  The more photos you comment on, the better your chances.  I will be selecting my 3 winners from the comments.

4.  Forward to Facebook (if you have an acct) or forward to a friend using email.  The FORWARD to Facebook and email buttons are located at the top of the page and to the right.  They are symbols.
If you post this to your Facebook acct or forward to someone by email, let me know by adding a comment in this blog post and you will earn another chance at the prize.  These options are found at the top right hand screen once you are in the story.

5. Come back on Dec15th to see if Kitty  and you are winners. I'll be posting the winners using your photobucket name so please remember this.  You will have seven days to contact me otherwise new names will be posted.

Here's the deal....the more you forward, LIKE and comment, the more points Kitty gets for judging.  She wins, YOU may win too.

( Special thanks to Maggi Harding who has let me use Chena in this contest as to Lynne Joncas for letting me use Pirate Squirrel in the Pirate Adventure)

Contest closes December 9th so hurry and get your comments in!!!! Kitty needs to win the GRAND prize so please keep that in mind.

The Foggy Challenge at the 3rd Eye - Scraps of Elegance/Darkness

The Foggy Challenge at the 3rd Eye

There are only three rules:
- use 3rd Eye stamp (stamp must be easily visible)
be inspired by fog! Use white and light grays.
- in place of Your work publication (blog/forum)add challenge banner with hyperlink to this blogpost.

OK then, here is my entry.  I used my Scraps of Elegance Dec Kit, Winter Wishes, because it had the perfect grays that I needed with that fun Bo Bunny Powder Mountain collection.

This is a sweet little pup called Nika.  She is the pup child to Maggi Harding, fellow paper artist.   I took this photo when I went to visit Maggi in Sept. for a scrappy girls get-away.  Nika is one of the girls and she scrapped her little heart out all weekend.

The  3rd Eye stamp that I used is the Cardiogram/Kardiogram.
Love this stamp and I have used it often as I find it to be very versatile.

You have a few days left so come and play along, or order up some stamps and play along in the next challenge.

Little Helper:
I used some pages from tax regulations papers in the back ground to also represent Maggi and her pup.  Maggi gave me the outdated tax regulation papers to use in my paper crafting.  They were perfect here. I slopped them on with Mod Podge.

This happens to be a page in my journal that I got from Scraps of Darkness Creative Add-On for Nov.    I see and observe Drycha doing all these amazing journal pages and I drool.  I want to try and be more carefree and experimental - the journal book is where I am doing this.

So thanks Drycha, for inspiring me to stretch, experiment and perhaps try something outside my comfort zone.  You make it look effortless, but let me tell you, it's not.
You are my Polish sistah for sure.

So thanks a million for looking and hope to see you in the challenge this month or next!

Kaisercraft November #3 Saturday Sketch

 Children in the Snow

This was create using my  December Scraps of Elegance, Winter Wishes.  This kit is full of elegant romance and vintage charm.

The image is also from an old postcard from Magic Moonlight Free Images. This kit really spoke vintage to me.  This is based on the November #3 Saturday sketch based on  ‘M & J’ Layout By Melissa Kennedy at Kaisercraft.

I wanted to extend  the feel of the photo onto the page so I rubbed a little gesso and Adirondack Paint in Sandal onto the patterend Kaisercraft paper.

The snowflakes and the flourishes under the photo are Kaisercraft stamps embossed with extra fine powder onto vellume, then cut out.  Gives a nice frosty appearance. ( Thanks to Lisa Novogrodski who reminded me of thisfrosty cool technique last month).

Thanks for looking and spending time here.
