Holiday Door - Scraps Of Darkness and Dusty Attic

Dec 2012 edition

I am so thrilled to be the guest Designer for Dusty Attic for Feb. 2012.   I was sent this really cool door design to use.  It's a soon-to-be-released piece so hang tight - you too can have it soon enough.

I know that the holidays are just a memory know but the Scraps of Darkness  Jan kit was a perfect fit for what I wanted to create. The Jan Kit, Escape is  packed with wonderful warm papers.
Please check us out.

OK - this is a photo I took of a pine wreath in December hanging on a ratty old wooed barn.  I love the ratty worn weathered look so I tried to replicate this on my Dusty Attic door.

First I painted the door with streaks of Tim Holtz stains -picket fence, vintage photo and a little black soot in the corners.  Then I used the Tim Holtz Distressed embossing powders in vintage photo, tea dye and black soot to accent the doors aged appearance.

Thanks for looking.
