Julie Nutting's Doll House and Doll Stamps

Welcome to my house.

Prima Marketing and Julie Nutting have designed a darling house for the wonderful doll stamps.  I had the pleasure of playing with one of the first on the market.  Such an honor.

I also added the adorable little dog stamp since dogs are most certainly part of the family.  In this house, the dog can even sit on the furniture if he wants.

So here is a photo of the "Before" .  Lots of compartments and rooms to make any doll stamps dream house come true.

I decided to keep my house as a natural wood finish.  My motto, "work smarter, not harder", so I can't be bothered to paint the house.  The house is a gorgeous clean light wood.  Why cover it up and worry about getting paint in the corners?  Forget it! Can't be bothered.  I simply chose my embellishments and papers around the house - if it looks good with the wood, then it's all good.

In tackling such a large project, I thought it best to take each little compartment and decorate one section at a time.  I actually let the patterned paper do most of the decorating while using minimal embellishments.  I tried not to clutter the compartments with too much glitz or too much stuff. It's easy to get carried away and over decorate, but then I believe it gets confusing to look at with an over abundance of embellishments.

There is , of course, an angel in the attic of this house - no matter that it's a Prima a resin angel.

My large bow hides the handle.

My house even has a Prima resin wreath on the wall to make the home a warm welcoming one.

The house reads, "Queen of my Castle".  So true.
I have created a family room setting using more Prima Resins, and Julie Nutting's Chipboard furniture, ( floor lamp and arm chair).   Those were simply inked and then dabbed with some gesso on a dry brush.

and the family pup...so adorable.

Thanks so much for stopping over to my house.

Prima Threads and Wires - Wall Hanging Project

Prima Threads

Prima has introduced a cool new line of threads in addition to more colors of their fabulous wire thread.  The colors are fun and the creativity endless.
In my opinion, these products were made to be used in whimsical ways and that's what I have done with this star wall hanging.

The original post can be seen on Prima's Blog here

Here is the photo of all the threads courtesy of Prima Marketing.

. Looking for a very simple and quick project?    I had a grapevine wreath  that I thought I'd gussy up .   I also added some of the new trims in the  bow shown below as well as the wire threads as grapevine tendrils.   The great thing about the grapevine wreath is that you can have one for each holiday and occasion.  Mix and match the threads to the occasion.

Due to the nature of the vine wreath - I did not fuss over the threads to arraigned them perfectly.  Where they fell when draped is where they stayed.

There are the names of the new Prima trims used in the bow:

577117 Prima Weave Trim - Flower

Look for them in your favorite on-line store soon.

Prima Basics with Epiphany Collection - Tag featuring Glass Beads and Mica Flakes and Gel Medium

Prima's New Art Ingredients by Finnabair

Finabair and Prima have teamed up to offer some cool art mediums and mix-ins.  NEW Glass GlitterGlass BeadsMica Flakes, and Art Sugar as well as other mediums for your artwork like the gel medium I used. (This piece can be seen at the Prima post here)

I thought I would create a tag using the new Epiphany Collection by Prima as well.  The graphics on this collection are really soft and delicate.  I love the butterflies I used on the top strip- beautiful and artsy.

This is a photo of the mica flakes.

These are the glass beads

I used the Art Basics Soft Matte Gel on this tag as a sort of glue to adhere my mica flakes and glass beads.  I find the gel medium works so much better for adhering journal tags and small delicate details.   You can paint on the gel medium or use your fingers like I tend to do.

I also used the gel medium once again as a glue to adhere my journal tags because the gel does not make them ripple.

My journaling reads " Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself"

Here you can see  I have tucked in the wonderful Prima doily die and a sweet crocheted embellishment by Prima as well.

Thanks for stopping.   Look for the new art ingredients by Finnabair and Prima coming soon to your favorite stores.

2Crafty - Patriotic Star Box

2Crafty - Patriotic Star Box
The month of July feels like a great time to be patriotic.  With the World Cup now behind us,  and so many people cheering on their country, I  would  place a bet almost everyone who uses a computer had some sort of exposure to the fanfare and excitement of the game.  Where ever you live, there are times when we all feel patriotic, are proud, and have a love for our country.

I used that patriotic pride as my inspiration for my star box. After covering the box in appropriate themed paper, I pulled out an interesting choice of 2Crafty Chipboard as my focal piece - the 'Corner Christmas Star Spray'.   Don't save this beauty for just the Christmas season!   It's way too beautiful for that.

I thought it was perfect as a representation of the stars in the United States flag.  I stayed simple and painted a base coat of white, then added embossing enamel to it.  No need to get all fancy.   Let the wonderful chipboard piece make the statement.

Next I grabbed the small 'ATC Word chipboard set' and chose "Treasure".  I treated it with the same covering of paint and then embossing enamel.  Treasure is used as a double meaning here - treasuring my country as well as what is placed in the box.

Next, in the image below, I decided to use the 'Flower Medallion 'as the base of my cluster.   The 'Flower Medallion' is also treated with paint and embossing enamel for uniformity.

Here are the images of the pieces I used.  You can see how detailed and wonderful the pieces are.  Once again, here are the names of the pieces I am using which can all be found on the website here: 2Crafty Products

' Corner Christmas Star Spray', 'ATC Word chipboard set' and the 'Flower Medallion'

The finishing touches on my box include some gold trim glued around the box, some inking on the box for accent, and the small American Flag stuck into my cluster as a bow.  I grabbed a flag from a recent parade I attended.  I try not to keep all little goodies I pick up, but those mini flags are always saved.
