Mid Month Muse - Art Supplies Box - Flying Unicorns

From Canvases, Compressed Chalk, Rubbing Plates to Paintsticks this monthly mixed media kit will get you creating with new mediums that you may have never used before. So without further adieu we introduce our Mid Month Muse, Mixed Media Inspired Kit .

Roll up your sleeves, get your hands a little messy and get creative with our Mixed Media Kit!
Here is a little inspiration form our Creative Team using the August Mid Month Muse Kit

Our kits our exclusive to the Flying Unicorn Store, and they are sold on a first come first serve basis - we have no sign ups, creativity should be a passion not an obligation but when the kits are sold out they are gone - so do not delay and get your kit today !

Here is my project:
I have a bunch of chalks, metal trinkets and paint brushes but now I need a place to keep them stored.  I used this opportunity to create an art box to hold all these little artsy things.

I saved an old Godiva chocolates box from Christmas.  Sadly, the box was empty when it was given to me. See,  I have a bunch of folks who save garbage for me to use in my crafting.  Just this once, I wish they had saved me a chocolate as well.  hehehe

Back to the box and the project...I used the canvas sheet from the kit and covered the box.  To do this without bumps and ripples - I use spray adhesive and spray both the box and the canvas sheet.

There are some cool Shiva Artist Oil Paintsticks included in this kit..  The Paintsticks are metallic colors.  I used the gold one and colored some masking tape then blended the oil paint with my fingertip to smooth it out.  I used the masking tape along the seam on the box (shown below).  I also crinkled some of the gold paintstick covered tape in the corner of the box.

I also used the copper colored oil paintstick and painted some Drywall Joint Tape that I placed in the corner as well.  The tape has holes in it like tiny punchinella.

The Mid Month Muse came with all sorts of interesting items to jump start the creativity process; canvas sheets, metal trinkets, corrugated sheets, oil based paint sticks, chalks, mist and more.   I totally enjoyed this.
The metal rings are made from my husbands guitar strings after he changes the strings.  He kindly saves them for me.
Grab your Mid Month Muse while it is still available.  There are no kit obligations and no sign up list.

  3. This tool box is quite a piece of art. Was really surprised while going through the supplies list to find a drywall product and the guitar strings.
