You Always Inspire Me - Scraps Of Darkness, CSI #37 and OUAS

You Always Inspire Me
This was created for CSI - Colors, Stories, Inspiration case file #37 and for Once Upon A Sketch.  These two challenge sites have joined up for the month of September.  In addition to the challenges, I created this using elements from the Scraps Of Darkness September kit, My Guy.

Something about angels that I find comforting and peaceful.  I took this photo a few years back in very  old cemetery.  I chose this title for a few reasons.  Angels are a reflection of my faith and I find them very inspiring, helping us along the path of goodness.  The second reason is that my husband always inspires me.  His loving and helpful nature makes him my living angel.

Here is a song from Jane Sibbery and k.d. lang that I used for my inspiration.  It's called "Calling All Angels".  Jane Sibbery may very well be my favorite artist of all time.

About 20 years ago, my friend dragged me to a concert in a small cozy venue to see this lady, Jane Sibbery, perform.  I had no idea who she was.  From the moment she began to sing, I felt like I was in the presence of an angel.  Ohhhh, what a gloriously melodic voice.

Calling All Angels

Here is the palette, evidence list and testimony list along with the special twist of the month: the sketch for the week designed by Nadia Cannizzo, from Once Upon A Sketch.  She always comes up with amazing and inspirational sketches.

My evidence:
I used book pages and buttons

My Testimony: excerpt from The song "Calling All Angels"
Calling All Angels - Jane Sibbery and k.d.lang

....calling all angels calling all angels
walk me through this one
don't leave me alone
calling all angels calling all angels
we're tryin' we're hopin'
we're hurtin' we're lovin'
we're cryin' we're callin'
cause we're not sure how this goes

I used the Heartfelt Creations leaf stamp here and just cut the stamp out.  Then  I used the heartfelt Creations crackle stamp in pewter.  barely visible here, but noticeable in person.

Lyrics:

Calling All Angels
Jane Sibbery and k.d.lang
Santa Maria, Santa Teresa, Santa Anna, Santa Susannah
Santa Cecilia, Santa Copelia, Santa Domenica, Mary Angelica
Frater Achad, Frater Pietro, Julianus, Petronilla
Santa, Santos, Miroslaw, Vladimir
and all the rest

Oh, a man is placed upon the steps, a baby cries
and high above you can hear
the church bells start to ring
and as the heaviness, oh the heaviness, the body settles in
somewhere you can hear a mother sing

then it's one foot then the other
as you step out onto the road of hope
step out on the road
how much weight? how much?
then it's how long? and how far?
and how many times oh, before it's too late?

calling all angels calling all angels
walk me through this one
don't leave me alone
calling all angels calling all angels
we're tryin' and we're hopin'
but we're not sure how...

ah, and every day you gaze upon the sunset
with such love and intensity
why it's ah, it's almost as
if you could only crack the code
then you'd finally understand what this all means

ah, but if you could...do you think you would
trade in all, all the pain and suffering?
ah, but then you'd miss
the beauty of the light upon this earth
and the sweetness of the leaving

calling all angels calling all angels
walk me through this one
don't leave me alone
calling all angels calling all angels
we're tryin' and we're hopin'
but we're not sure...

calling all angels calling all angels
walk me through this one
don't leave me alone
calling all angels calling all angels
we're tryin' we're hopin'
we're hurtin' we're lovin'
we're cryin' we're callin'
cause we're not sure how this goes
